Great to see players graduating to better things, but I hope the serious loss of talent that got us to a fantastic finish last year doesn't dramatically change the performance of the team. The 2nd season is when the real fans show their loyalty, especially if they perform bad. That goes for any pro sports team.

That's how I see it too... the Cavs seem to be gaining this reputation as a well-run, classy and successful club and perhaps playing here might elevate your career and gain you some valuable exposure. I'd be okay with that reputation going forward.

Maybe it is not the best comparison, but I would like for the Cavalry function like a UCLA or a London Knights. Organisations that good young players want to be a part of because they have a reputation of developing pros and getting scouted.

That's the way I feel. It's so refreshing to have a local professional club with a uniquely Canadian league. It's great to analyze, to engage in some banter, and just to have the fun that soccer fans around the world have enjoyed for ages.

Considering a year ago many of these players would not have had an opportunity to play pro soccer I think these transfers reflect well on CPL as a whole.

Hopefully there are more of these transfers as the league establishes itself, meaning more money and sustainability for CPL clubs, and hopefully in turn an increased salary cap, high level of play, etc.

I'm excited to see if we run with both Brown and Cordova on the pitch at the same time. That would be a new wrinkle that should help us score goals.

Add Minatel, Camargo and (hopefully) Pasquotti and that's a lot of pace to throw at opposition back lines.

We're now up to 9 articles on the CPL official website regarding Borges transfer, whereas Waterman's move to MLS generated 3.

Fellas - only a couple more months until training / season starts. I can't wait.

While I do think a transfer to a team on the cusp of Belgian First Division is a bigger deal than moving to the Impact, and the Borges fee is 3-5x the Waterman fee... the Forge bias is a bit annoying.

Hopefully we have enough players by then to do some 5-a-side training!

I think I make out a red wordmark at the top of the page? But who knows? If he's still a Cav, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Edit: Jose Escalante wished him "all the best," so that sounds like goodbye?!

The suspense is killing me.

Ledgerwood tweeted him "looks like Scandinavia," and somewhere in Europe would make sense given that Pasquotti tweeted "signing day" at 7PM MST.

Edit: I'm overanalyzing things, but what can I say? I'm just glad to have a local club where I can freak out about transfers and stuff!

That would mean it would be around 2AM in Scandinavia. Unless he's doing some late night tweeting, it would be more likely that he's in North America.
