Monahan was the only player over 50% on draws yesterday. 3rd period penalties really hurt Calgary. The PP was a struggle. Zone entries were very frustrating to watch.
Having said that, WPG made their adjustments last game and it paid off. Now Calgary will make adjustments and I'm guessing it pays off.
I'm sticking to Flames in 4.

I thought having Rinaldo in the lineup to start the series was the right call, as I expected the Jets to try and be physical with the Flames. However, they aren't intimidating us physically at all. And Rinaldo hasn't been very good.
The Flames need to add speed to the lineup. And aggression/initiation.
To me, that means Robinson.

I hope they play Rittich… give him a shot. Otherwise, it will be another off-season with the Flames having no clue what their goalie situation looks like. Which to me, will fall completely on Treliving.

Well, I need to see the context before reacting, but he was already the second best coach in the series.

I don't mind seeing some rotation of players, but the bottom 3 guys aren't what's hurting this team, nor is goaltending. I don't see how taking out Rinaldo helps change the compete level of our top players.

Problem is 2-fold: Rittich doesn't exactly have a stellar record under pressure. And you potentially crush Talbot by taking him out despite playing well. Then what are you left with?

Talbot has been the best Flame so far. But you want to create a goalie controversy so that we don't have a goalie controversy?

It doesn't. But Rinaldo and the 4th line haven't been good. And it is something that can actually be changed.

Rinaldo definitely helps against a specific type of team, but you're right that it doesn't seem like we've needed his added physicality so far.
Better off with a Quine, Robinson, or Czarnik on the 4th as it changes that line's ability to maybe generate some offensive zone pressure and forecheck instead of trying to survive every shift in the defensive end.

We need to up the forecheck intensity and put pressure on the Jets' D.
Put in whoever can help do that.

I'm just hoping the refs show a little restraint on the penalties today. Reflecting on the series thus far, I think we'll be fine five-on-five but when half the game is on the PP or PK, it kills any kind of flow because instead of going hard on the forecheck, you're either trying to finesse a PP goal, or chasing on the PK. If we can throw wave after wave at them and wear them down, that is where our depth should prevail. A PP goal (or at least some quality chances) wouldn't hurt either.
Teams are playing like its playoff hockey and refs are calling it like its regular season.

If the jets are still without Laine and Scheifele we have to take advantage.

Top line needs to put up 2-3 goals tonight.
Winner of tonight wins this series, get it done.

Looking for Johnny, Monahan and Gio to have their career best playoff game today.
I'm tired of hearing about a third liner being the guy who shows up best in the playoffs. Top players get on it.

Might not be a bad time for Monahan to show that he's got at least some ability to raise his game in the playoffs as he's been quiet between Lindholm and Gaudreau.

I just don't go to effort.
It's execution, and mental toughness to stick with a game plan even if the other team scores first.
If the Flames go 1/6 on the powerplay yesterday they likely win. They didn't.
