I'm sure it could be optimized better...but that also brings up the issues when optimizing for 2 different specs. Won't be a problem on all games but some obviously if its already happening it will continue to some degree.
Bottom line the "its the same if you only have a 1080p tv" I keep hearing is false
Spend $200 and get an X IMO...you probably make that back in the end and then some anyway with used games/selling games and storage

So far it's only false for this one game, and yes it is possible this could be an issue for some games moving forward.
But as for having to optimize for two specs, this is nothing new. PC Games have always had minimum and recommended settings so this isn't any different. If you want the best possible experience, spend the money in the best system.
If you can only afford the Series S, then it looks like it will be similar to those people who can only afford a PC that can run games at minimum requirements. A sub par way of playing, but hey at least you are still playing right?
Especially if want to pay Elder Scrolls 6 but don't want to shell out the full cost of the series x

Well the game won't be out for a 3-4 years...save your pennies and buy the X so you can actually play it properly. Or play it on your pc/phone/tablet/chromebook probably Ps5 lets be honest. Buying an S at launch so you can play Elder Scrolls 6 in four years would be pretty dumb.
Goimg to get a S series early next year. The xbow one will replace the 360 in the bedroom we use to stream content. Will be very welcomed as the 360 is noisy as #### lol. Going with the s because I do have a 4k tv and I need the physical disk drive so many games from previous xboxs and dvds.

You need the Series X, hopefully that was just a typo

I was being cheeky and completely agree with getting the series X or a solid gaming PC. I wasn't implying you buy a Series S at launch to play ES6. I was implying that you would purchase it if you had no other way to play the game when it comes out, and lets be honest it MIGHT be on PS5 not probably. Especially after what Phil Spencer said recently.
I don't think there will be any more as it's gone quiet since the initial pre-orders sold out. I personally believe they will be available after launch as I simply don't see enough people in this economy able to shell out $500 for a console compared to other generations.

I think a lot of the pre-orders were purchased with the intent of selling for a profit but when that doesn't happen they will be available at retail price. It's happened recently with other consoles too. Especially when people start getting their credit card statements

There have been some new PS5 pre-orders available in various places since the initial pre-orders opened up. Just need to pay attention and follow the right people on Twitter.
While there are a lot more people that can't afford a new console, there are also a lot of people that were lucky enough to keep their jobs, but weren't spending much on vacations, restaurants and other entertainment. A lot of people have extra money they want to spend. I think any PS5 available in the first 6 months will be sold out almost immediately.

I've never pre-ordered any PS console up until now (I just purchased a pre-order from a CP member) and have always got one within a month of launch. I don't expect this to be any different as they will be available and it's just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.
This has probably been posted but there is an insane amount of "free" games for PS+ subscribers day one on PS5. I know they are PS4 titles but will play better apparently. Pretty solid for $59.99/year ($40 on CDKeys) hoping for a bloodborne frame rate upgrade
Batman: Arkham Knight
Battlefield 1
Bloodborne
Days Gone
Detroit: Become Human
Fallout 4
Final Fantasy XV
God of War
Infamous: Second Son
Monster Hunter World
Mortal Kombat X
Persona 5
Ratchet & Clank
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
The Last Guardian
The Last of Us Remastered
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Until Dawn

The big problem with Bloodborne is frame pacing, not necessarily frame rate. So even if PS5 gets it to stay at the target frame rate 100% of the time, without a patch it'll still feel like garbage.
