Flames lose 10th consecutive season-opener (5-3 Avs win)
Exactly zero season-opening wins in the 2010s, love that

Some good and some bad tonight. Flames started to look better for the most part after the first. The refs were just ugly. The Avs pretty much won on a goal that shouldn't have counted. That's nice....
Flames will be fine once they fine tune some things, and get some rust off.
Just another season opening loss for the Flames, nothing new here. Onto Saturday.

Entertaining game.
Frolik was atrocious.
Meh. Win Saturday!

Gotta love tradition. Bill Peters can be one stubborn mule of a coach.

honestly can't complain about the effort. The fix was in. A few defensive breakdowns typical of Octobee hockey against a talented team but nothing idiotic.

Frolik can go to the press box, the farm, out of town, don’t care.
Just go.

Slow start by the Flames but they showed up in the last 2 periods to make a game of it.

Liked what I saw from most of the Flames.
Tkachuk looked incredibly rusty... no surprise.
Frolik looked over his head on the 2nd line.
Jankowski allows 2 cross-crease passes to go right through him for goals against.

Pile on but I would trade Backlund as well if it means a decent line for Chucky.

some positives, even though they lost... Avs are a talented team, but i liked how calgary responded.
thought Rittich had a very good game

Scratch Frolik and play Rieder.
The Flames came on as the game got going, but good grief was Frolik awful.
Bennett was a beast.
Backlund was bad.

Well, the Flames got better the longer they played. So, there's that.
