Brian Lawton stating he has a rumor of a Matt Duchene and that the Sharks are interested in him.

No, not a chance IMO.
Smith is way better than Mason IMO.

With that said, that tweet clearly lacks punctuation. Eats shoots leaves.

They will be a lot closer
I could see them anywhere from 3-5 in that division
There's arguably 11 teams in the west who would consider next year a dissapointment if they didn't make it

The west next year is going to crazy, as for the Jets, I think they come close.

Nope. They needed a better goaltender for sure and Mason may be an upgrade but they badly needed an upgrade at head coach and that hasn't been addressed. They will receive exactly what a Paul Maurice coached team delivers and that's a slightly better than .500 team.

They have a good team, Nikolaj Ehlers, Mark Scheifele, Patrik Laine, Blake Wheeler, Bryan Little up front and Dustin Byfuglien, Jacob Trouba, Tyler Myers and Toby Enstrom on the backed + they have some good prospects, if they can get good goaltending they will come close to a playoff spot.

Sam Gagner "sounds like he's headed" to Canucks, according to Bob McKenzi.

(in no particular order...)
Chicago
Nashville
St Louis
Minnesota
Dallas
are all better than Winnipeg.
And there won't be 5 teams from the central this year.

@FriedgeHNIC
One other UFA to watch tomorrow is Evgeni Dadonov from the KHL. He's expected to go to East...and FLA, with 7 signed forwards, is in there
@FriedgeHNIC
Also hearing VAN taking a look at Alexander Burmistrov. A worthwhile gamble for them

I expected more from Winnipeg last season and was wrong. Pretty dire team to watch most of the time despite their having a lot of good forwards.
They didn't have Myers for most of last season. A lot will depend on what kind of impact he has on the defense. Really did not like their defense last season especially when it comes to moving the puck. Laine is also a couple of seasons away from physical maturity and can improve a lot from year to year.

Panthers have agreed on a deal for former Panther FA Evgeni Dadonov, who's coming back from KHL, acc. to source #flapanthers
@TSNBobMcKenzie
Hearing Dadonov will get three years in FLA with an AAV of $4M:

Canucks going after Gagner/Nilsson/Burmitrov etc just makes me laugh. Just spinning their wheels like Flames did late in Iginla's tenure.
