At 26 now are you suggesting he is still so young that he will grow up relatively soon or that he recently has and no one noticed?

His questionable antics (granted some are hearsay and rumor) are not that long ago, so I don't have that much faith that he has or will mature much more. Honestly, I don't like the gamble due to the supposed attitude concerns, but as far as player potential goes he might work out if he learns to not coast outside of contract years.

If you tell him his other option is gonna be Stockton he would waive

Playing in the NHL is better, no matter where you play. Plus, it's Stockton, not Palm Springs.

Stockton is one step up from Hell and two steps up from Edmonton.

(Carefully thinks of calculated, measured reply. Leans slowly towards microphone)

Yeah, but Mike Richards was in an identical boat and went the other way.

Has Kane done anything this season that has raised any eyebrows or made him look like a bad teammate?

Carter/Richards both put up 60-80 point seasons at the time they were moved and team took a chance on them.

Kane has surpassed just 50pts once in his career. the upside of risk/reward equation doesn't make it worth it, for me....

nope. Richards had proven his offensive prowess FAR more than kane ever has to date. He had a 75, 80, and 2 x 60pt seasons before he got dealt.

To be fair, Carter acted like a baby when he was traded to Columbus and the Blue Jackets ended up getting worse when they had to flip him.

oh for sure. I am not questioning their attitude/behaviour issues, but am stating their performance to that point warranted the risks in the A&B department.

I'm not saying Kane is anywhere close to those guys as far as the A&B, but he's a tier or 2 below the others when it comes to performance and on ice results.

And to be fair, Darryl Sutter wishes he was Jeff Carter.

Boy, something's gotta give for Ottawa. They have to sign Stone for next year and no one of significance is coming off the books. The biggest contract that goes is Oduya's $1M. A cape space increase ain't going to absorb what Stone will get. They also have to re-sign Ceci, who they only locked down for a two year deal last time.

Feel really sorry for Sens fans. What a tease that organization is with great drafting, great development and then they just settle for mediocrity due to their owner.

As angry as we get as Flames fans with the team sometimes, imagine if your team was neck and neck with your hated rival (The Leafs) and then suddenly your management decided "Our number one centre is going to want a big contract this summer, let's downgrade in a trade for someone cost controlled for next season!!", and then immediately tailspinned to the bottom of the league.

That has to be devastating.

Imagine if you traded Silvferberg for Bobby Ryan and then signed him for $7.25 million for seven seasons?
