What I wonder... I got AZ, then 2 Pfizers. My second Pfizer (3rd shot) was only two months after my previous vaccination though. Do I still need a booster six months later?

Looked this afternoon to book my daughter, nothing available in Calgary. But lots available in Airdrie and Okotoks.

So we’re booked for next Wednesday.

They aren't doing boosters for regular people as of yet.

Amethyst was wondering (the way I read it) if a booster is needed at all or if that 3rd shot is considered one. I'm in the same situation and it would be nice to have some guidance.

As of now you do not "need" a booster in the sense that it isn't required for anything, including passports. If it becomes necessary, which I doubt, they will likely provide information on what that qualifies. In terms of whether you should get one to protect your own personal health and the health of others, as good as this community is, that's probably a question for AHS or your doctor, as you would be looking at a 4th dose.

Your third shot is your 'booster'. In theory, you would need a booster eight months after your most recent shot.

No fair! They didn't have any dogs to play with when I got my shots.

I used to volunteer with PALS before my dog had to retire. I would have loved this assignment. And I'm pretty sure I know the dog on the right...

They were a little fatigued yesterday but today it’s like it never happened. They are just as loud and annoying as usual.

I'd echo Knut's comment - both mine (7 and 10) were shot today, and they haven't missed a beat. Still their usual crazy selves.

Has anybody seen data on the numbers of 5-11 year olds who have been vaccinated? The regular covid tracker site hasn't broken it down.

The Fri-Sat-Sun dump of doses has been fairly consistent at around 22,000 before this weekend and this weekend it was 37,936 so ~16,000 pediatric doses so far?

Seems low but makes sense. Most people I have talked to have it scheduled coming up or are like, yeah still gotta do that.

Even for myself, where I was on the bleeding edge for me and my wife, we have our son scheduled for this Friday.

My daughter got it on Saturday. What a trooper. She was super excited when we said that she is eligible to get the vaccine. Then came the day of vaccine and she was nervous. What if it hurts? What if I faint? (Dad and big brother are both fainters). Don't worry, we said, because it doesn't hurt.

She gets there and there are several kids crying (estimated to be 5 or 6 year olds). Nerves set in. The nurse she had was great and helped her to ease up. She talks to my daughter and my daughter loves to talk! Talk, talk, talk! All done! What? When? She told me that I was right that she wouldn't notice. She adds that she doesn't know why those other kids were crying.

4.7% of 5-11 year olds got their 1st dose, as per /kirant and his vaccination updates on Reddit.

https://www.alberta.ca/stats/covid-1...m#vaccinations

As of yesterday, 26,844 kids in the 5-11 age group have received their first shot. That's 6.9% of that age group.

Also, you can now get the federally-recognized version of the proof of vaccination document. The only difference is the new one has the government of Canada logo on it and it's bilingual.
