Oh crappy news! Good bye Stuart. Vinyl Cafe is my favorite road trip audio.

Until next time Stuart.
A shame, he was one of the best.

Figured it was bad when not long ago they announced they weren't even going to air reruns in order to let other programming get airtime on CBC. Sad news. We saw him a couple of Christmas's ago.

Wow. This stopped me in my tracks.
I've been a fan of the Vinyl Cafe since I was a kid. I've read a number of Stuart's books, been to a few live performances and regularly listened to the radio program.
RIP Stuart, a true piece of Canadiana.

Such a sad news... By far one of my most favorite modern Canadian writers. I have read all of his published books and always waited for a new one to come. Still remember the first time I heard him read a Dave & Morley story on CBC radio; almost drove into a streetlight laughing. Rest in peace, Stuart.

That is really crappy news. I loved the sound of his voice. My mother in law took my wife and I to his live Christmas performance a couple of years ago at the Jubilee and he was outstanding.
This is a real bummer.

That's sad. I wasn't a regular listener or anything, but I enjoyed his show when it happened to be on in the car over the years. Had no idea he was sick.

My favourite of all his stories is the one where they are dealing with bringing stuff back from the US without paying duty on it.

Despite the trite, overly maple syrupy theme of his radio shows, Vinyl Cafe was a guilty pleasure of mine, the wife could not stand his voice and would make me change it if she was around, when I heard him announce his melanoma I did not expect this outcome. I'm thankful for his contributions to Canadiana.

Wow - really? I think his voice was fantastic and just loved listening to him talk. If my life was narrated by someone, he'd be near the top of my list for sure. Along with Morgan Freeman, and RA Dickey.
