It's interesting to watch those old Alice Cooper videos from the early 1970s. I recall seeing an interview with him a while back and he talked about how Jim Morrison's death made him straighten out back then. Apparently they were friends. I have trouble thinking of them as contemporaries... it just seems like they came from different eras. I'm a huge fan of both.

You can kind of hear the influence in thise song:





Anyway, completely unrelated but a guilty pleasure of mine... here is Metric performing their newest song in acoustic. I like it better than the real version:

A couple videos surfaced from Thom Yorke's college band. Pretty cool find.

Early edition of High and Dry. Interesting that he was playing it way back then and it didn't surface until the second Radiohead album.


This one is perhaps more entertaining with another guy taking over vocals, and perhaps the world's most annoying audience member with a whistle!

Holy crap. Of Monsters and Men isn't really in my wheelhouse of musical choices but this new album they have is fracking spectacular. I just love her vocals. So soothing. And the band is tight too.
