Dude... you need an intervention or something.

Baldur's Gate is one of the best CRPGs ever, so definitely worth picking up. A whole pile of those classic D&D-based games are coming to consoles in September.

"Guys, I don't get the appeal of Baldur's Gate and those D&D based isometric RPGs".

Which of the following is an appropriate, sane response to the above?

a) Did you ever even play the first one? If not you can't talk about this.
b) Do you even own a PC? If you haven't invested hundreds of dollars into hardware in order to confirm your lack of interest, don't talk about this.
c) What is your argument? That we shouldn't like Baldur's gate because you don't get the appeal?
d) Stop taking a crap on the thread!
e) Well, to each their own! You're definitely missing out, though. The originals were great and I'm really looking forward to this new one.

Take your time, Resolute. I know it's difficult. You can do it, buddy.

Yeah Corsi, you're really, totally, definitely not mad that people didn't fall over themselves in a rush to agree with you.

As much as I have a childhood love of BG1/2, even the "remasters" are a bit...aged.

Divinity: OS1 and 2 really hit the sweet spot for modern type isometric RPGs, but feel close to the theme of BG, though the combat is a bit different (but still very good).

Look in the mirror. At this point I'm just having fun with you. Just saying, if people had chosen option (e) rather than turning into angry lunatics, this wouldn't have taken four pages to get through this.

PS: I don't care if you like Nintendo, and I never said that you shouldn't.

Empire of Sin might be one of the games that interests me the most from E3

That’s not what he said, though. He said “I’ve never played those and maybe I should check them out”. Because saying “I don’t get the appeal of it” after someone posted saying how excited they were would make him look like kind of a jerk. Say if he said something like:

“Yeah, I really do not understand PC RPG people. It's like they speak a totally different language. What about any of that was exciting? I guess a Baldur’s Gate sequel is a big announcement given how many people liked that game (as far as I'm concerned it was massively overrated) but other than that, why does it matter?”

I really, really wish Nintendo would get into the Star Wars racket. I know it's not likely, but that would be my hope that at some point before the next gen of console comes out they have something.

Jesus Christ... what even is this thread?

Anyway, I am super pumped for Doom Eternal. It's looking fantastic and I am feeling confident it's going to be a great experience. I am a little more unsure of Wolfenstein Youngblood. I want it to be good. I loved TNO/TOB and quite enjoyed TNC. I am hoping the coop works well. The trailer was great at least.

I mean... damn! Carpenter Brut makes magic.

No... it wouldn't. It would be a reasonable reaction by someone who does not see the game as appealing, and therefore does not find its announcement worthy of excitement. This is fine. Not everyone is going to "get" what you're into, and you shouldn't flip out and try to deconstruct their opinion or come up with reasons why they're not entitled to it simply because they don't get what you're into.

In other words, the sane, mature response is still: "Well, to each their own! You're definitely missing out, though. The originals were great and I'm really looking forward to this new one". Try that next time before turning into this dude.

That's not going to happen so long as EA holds the Star Wars license. They deserve to have it pulled given what they've produced.

It's probably because it's only $28 on Bestbuy but it's kind of surprising how hard it is to pre-order Man of Medan. I had it in my cart and wanted to see what else was there and when I went back to check it was gone.

it occurred to me i never completed Breath or the Wild.

i recall feeling like the game never had an actual ending, just kept going and going and going. And i wanted to play other stuff.

Yep, it has an actual ending with credits, etc.

Side note - I am curious about how the DLC works in this case. If you've completed the main quest, does the DLC add new stuff, or is the DLC intended to be used before you complete the game?

Really there's literally no way they can't mess this up seeing the formula is nearly identical. I very much enjoyed Divinity 2 so I'm very excited to see what they can do with BG.

After you finish you just go back to your last save, so you get the DLC that way.
