Point as the #5 player in the league seems crazy high to me.

Lightning coach says he is their best player
Best player on the best team
Anyway I said 5-10....92 points with a great 2 way game

Lol if you're using this list as the word of law on player rankings, then you'll also undoubtedly agree that Elias Peterssen is a better player than both Tkachuk and Monahan?
The list is stupid and meaningless. I agree with the above posters- it has much more to do with marketability and popularity than actual skill rankings of players.

Yeah Matthews is a bit high here. I have no doubt he could hit 90 or 100 points this season, but I'm not exactly sure what criteria today puts him so far ahead of the likes of Barkov, Scheifele, Malkin, or even Eichel! (Eichel ranked 29th Matthews 6th)

No. Guy is a 55-60 point player away from McDavid. The media is like "but he plays with McDavid, that moves him up 40 slots! "

Nobody outside of Alberta gives a rat’s behind about the Flames. I bet if you were to poll most fans in Eastern Canada they would assume Johnny is the captain, because he’s the only player they would know.
Burns and Karlsson are a thousand times more marketable to the people TSN cares about.

So nobody inside of Alberta should give a rat's behind about his list.

This is some bad Flames homerism.

No Oiler should be anywhere near a top 50 list unless the list is Top No Good Players to Ever be No Good at Hockey, in that case just click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...Oilers_players

I don't know...a PTO on his way out of the league scored over 20 playing with McDavid. Oilers would love to have two scoring lines but whenever they break them up its still 95% first line scoring

Based on this, Tkachuk should be coming in less FWIW.

If contracts were based on TSN lists, what should Tkachuk get paid?

About Draisatl; it doesn't matter that he plays with McDavid. 50 goals/100 pts is going to have you ranked pretty high among NHL players right now.
It is what it is and you can dispute it but really, he had one of the best offensive seasons of any player in the league last year. He's gonna get some love.
