Arnold getting a lot of ice time in the final minutes of this game. Seems like he's one of their go to guys in a tight game.

3 20 minute periods...just like all hockey.

I know that, but on the Eagles website, during the second period, it said "2nd half", and when the 3rd started, it was labeled "OT".

BC gets a late PP and scores, giving them the 2-0 victory. Tomorrow night (6:00pm Calgary time), they'll play the winner of tonight's game between Minnesota Duluth and Maine.
Arnold and Gaudreau both looked good in today's game, but both ended with zero points (Arnold took one penalty).

For a little guy he must have a strong core, he is hard to knock off the puck.

You got me. I'd guess either an inside joke or someone calling the game that doesn't know hockey. Strange.

The game is being televised on ESPNU, if you have it.
0-0 after one.

Crash and Bang Winger

2nd Period just started and within the first few minutes Gaudreau sounds like he tried a bit of a wrap around type attempt and forced a rebound that was banged in by a team mate.
Only a minute and a half later Bill Arnold has scored now to make it 2-0.

Nice assist by Gadreau to make it 1-0 BC, followed by an Arnold goal to make it 2-0 a minute later.

Pretty breakaway goal by Gadreau to make it 4-0. Looks like my Eagles are going back to the Frozen Four.

Impressive for a guy listed at 5'6" and 135 lbs. That's the size of an average 9th grader ffs!

So it sounds like BC is in the final four. BC vs. The golden Gophers on April 5th.

Well, I've never seen any Frozen Four tournament before so it might be interesting to watch this one. It'll be something to watch since the end of the season looks bleak for the Flames.
(sidenote: My Borther In-Law won the Div III tournament with Wisconsin-Superior in 02... I know cool story bro)

Pretty sure he's listed at 5'7 or 5'8 (depends on the source) and 150lbs

In a game a month or so ago the BC play by play said he plays very large for 5'8 155lbs. from the little I have seen this holds true, college isn't NHL strong but they are bigger/stronger than junior players and Gaudreau seems to have no problem with the big guys, plus he's extremely hard to hit.
Maybe some college fans out there can come up with a name or two but I can't think of any college player that controled a game like John does as an 18 year old freshman, he already got awards coming out his ying yang and he won't be 19 till august...amazing.

Not that I follow NCAA, but I remember reading a few names of guys that were standouts as a rookie included Paul Kariya, Brendan Morrison, Brian Holzinger, Chris Drury for forwards.

Thanks for the names
Yeah I forgot about Kariya's amazing rookie season even if it was in the high scoring era...still amazing (4th overall pick)
Although Morrison won ROTY he was only 4th in scoring on his team, Drury didn't do a whole lot as a freshman (10th in scoring on his team) and Holzinger who was 19 for 95% of his freshman games didn't do much until his 4th season at bowling green(hobey baker)
Aside from Kariya I would say Johnny is showing far more as an 18 year old. 2012 All rookie team,2012 Hockey East All Tournament Team, and 2 Tournament MVP awards...and counting

Could Gaudreau garner any Hobey Baker talk or would that be pretty rare for a freshman?
