I guess I was just frustrated with his offensive game tonight. Puck seemed to be a grenade every time he had it.

Team just didn't have the jump today. Too many players still on vacation. I will say Ferland had the best effort on the top line. Brodie played a nice game, Thought the 3rd line was the best line of the Flames today. Top line needs to have a much better showing next game. Smith was outstanding during regulation. Jets played harder than the Flames today.

That was just a terrible game all around. Team seemed slow and out of sync, the dome was a morgue and full of very small children whose parents spent the entire game running back and fourth to concession stands and bathrooms, and I think they may have changed the nacho cheese!
I’m not going to put a lot of emphasis on a 1 pm game coming off a 5 day break, but man am I tiring of watching garbage hockey at the dome. They need to call in a sports psychologist or something. They are straight brutal on home ice.

Well he hasn't scored in his last 4 attempts, so I don't see how his eye test has failed him

To me it’s not that he doesn’t score it’s that his attempts are just useless. Gliding in and firing it directly at the goaltenders

I am not disappointed with the Flames getting a single point this afternoon. More or less it was expected.
These next three games will tell us a lot about what kind of team the Flames are. Hopefully they can start stringing a few more wins together again.

Because the context of his comment was "I don't know why we put him in the shootout".
As a blanket statement, it was a terrible question / notion. Over-all, he's proven to be a good choice in the shootout despite the recent cold run.

Thought we were pretty lucky to get a point today. We were badly outplayed and out chanced today and Smith was the reason. Jets are good team, so we should give them and their incredibly deep forward group some credit.
But I thought our forwards could’ve been a lot better, especially the 1st line, defensively just pinned in their own zone consistently. Hopefully Monahan shakes off the rust quick because I didn’t like his game at all today. Every point is important and hopefully the team can get back to better habits asap.

The Flames didn't have any finish, but if they had, they would have scored 4 or 5. They got the Jets to turn the puck over and created dangerous counter-attacks, caught them on odd-man breaks much more than they were caught, and were by no means the worse team out there. It was pretty even - unless you come here, where the consensus is more than they should have been soundly thrashed.

The biggest difference...Jets have goal scorers while Flames have players that can score. We are wasting Mangi on the 4th line. Roslovic was used by the Jets PP in his first NHL game and came within a crossbar of scoring.

Flames were lethargic. Thought the Jets were really fast on the breakout, beat us to all the loose pucks on the boards in our end and had several quality scoring chances. If not for Smith its 5-1. Not lethargic at all.

I'd kind of like to see Bennett get a look with Tkachuk and Backlund.

Screwed on the review and multiple odd man rushes and a break away they couldn't convert in the second and beyond. No complaints really other then not being as sharp as they could but if that's a bad game from this point froward this team will be ok.
Hopefully keeps them a bit more grounded going into the Buffalo game.

The holding call on Monahan might be the worst call I can remember. Game changer. Flames should've been on a 5-3.
