I guess I’m a Neanderthal but I’m glad. Didn’t like the way Lucic ran Gio over.

Only problem is the back to back scenario. We need to run three defence pairings, and four lines. Don't know if running a couple guys who aren't able to take a regular NHL shift is a smart idea.

Only 12 healthy forwards up right now so it makes sense. He isn't a great player but I didn't see him as a liability out there and would be good to keep Kassian and Lucic honest in case they start chasing Tkachuk around for bumping into the guy who never fights his own battles.

I think the flames have more than enough scoring punch to beat the oilers with Hathaway or czarnik out for peluso.

You have to think about Tkachuk, do you think he wants to be looking over his shoulder the whole night waiting to be sucker punched by those two meatheads?

Peluso and Prout playing? Excellent. Haven't see anything like this since Hartley's goons line brawl. Love it!!

Peluso and Kassian should be a ring a ding dong dandy of a fight.

I thought Peluso played well in his previous games. Played a heavy game and created chances in the offensive zone. And I’m still a strong believer that having a deterrent in the lineup gives skilled players a level of confidence and allows them to do what they do best.

Meh, don't really care either way. If he's supposed to be a Kassian and Lucic repellant we will see. Hopefully he's not an actually Liability when it comes to the actual game.

I'd rather beat them in a track meet and on the scoreboard than in the knocking out teeth department.

We'll see how this goes.

Not going to lie, I like the idea of dressing a couple of tough guys tomorrow, I’m sick of watching the lumbering meat heads run around.

Leave them on the bench unless a face needs punching, works for me.

Yeah Kassian is such a nut job you never know if he’s going to snap on Tkachuk or on someone else in trying to goad Tkachuk into something. Prout or Peluso observing is a required insurance policy.

With all the injuries Prout and Peluso are next on the depth chart anyway. According to hockeyfights.com prout has the edge on Lucic. We could see at least two heavyweight bouts tomorrow.

This is the right call in my opinion. The Flames played with a heck of a lot of courage the first game, but Tkachuk could have easily been out for a long time had Kassian been able to really connect on a couple of those shots while he was on top of Tkachuk.

Peluso also hasn't been a bad player at all. Personally, I think he is a better player than Lomberg (no disrespect to Lomberg - I really like his feistiness and courage). Peluso not only didn't hurt the Flames in any game he has been in, but I would say he was decent on the forecheck, and in a couple of instances, his line had the opposition hemmed in at times.

Having an insurance policy sitting there on the bench who doesn't hurt you when he is on the ice should have a nice impact on the morale of the rest of the players, especially if Edmonton decides they are going to start some shenanigans while being down 12 goals.

Oilers are gonna be so preoccupied with trying to get revenge on Tkachuk tomorrow night, I predict they'll abandon Hitch's "play for the tie" game plan, and it's gonna create some juicy odd-man rushes for the Flames.

Don't forget the ample amounts of PP practice for the Flames!!

If it comes to fights, Lucic and Prout are a wash, as they pretty much have been equal in their scraps(save for the knock down Prout had vs Lucic, though in fairness, he did sneak in a punch before Lucic got his gloves off). Peluso on the other hand is a beast, a true heavyweight, even during the Mcgrattan and Orr days a few years ago.

No one on the Oilers roster will be enthusiastic to go toe to toe with Peluso. Heck, if he was a regular player, the only ones who would be on the same level as him, as far as a pugilist would be Reaves and Engelland(who doesnt fight at all anymore) right now in the NHL.

This is similar to the years when the Flames had Simon and Oliwa(to a lesser extent Mcgrattan and Westgarth) on the team. In the sense if you tangled with one, you still had another true Heavy on the Flames to deal with after. So you had to be careful on how much you targeted the other players.

Oddly enough though, as good as Peluso has been in his win loss ratio(won 95 percent of his tilts), he always had trouble with Tom Sestito, who by all accounts and measures was a very mediocre fighter.
