Default Best Donair/Shwarma in Calgary V2

My personal favourite is Pita Basket.

Most overrated in my opinion is Jerusalem Shwarma.

Jerusalem Shwarma is great for platters etc, not so much the donair. Don't know how to describe them but I've never enjoyed the style you get here in Calgary. Wrapped up tightly in the parchment paper then pressed on the grill.

My go-to place toasts them before wrapping them. Seems to work so much better.

Recently discovered Beirut Street food, on the corner of Fairmount drive and Flint road. I would highly recommend as both my experiences there have been a 10.

Shawarma Knights on 14th ST SW. Get the lamb. Get all 3 sauces. Enjoy

I only go to Jerusalem to get potatoes and toum.

I swear to god, it's like none of the other places know what emulsification means.

My vote goes to Shawarma Knights as well. Their beef, chicken and lamb are all great

There was a spice in the donair at Jerusalem Shawarma that just didn't work for me at all. I like the quantity provided at Jimmy's - it's probably not the very best donair in town but I enjoy it.

Ha! So true. As someone living in the deep SE, we're pretty hooped for good donairs. I saw a Jerusalen Donair opened up on 130th. But it's in the busiest part of that complex, so #### that. There is Aida's Donair in McKenzie Town square. But I didn't like it that much.

However I did manage to find a great place called Great Canadian Pizza in Copperfield. Unless you live near that part of the city it's going to be out of your way. But if you live close to that area I can honestly say it's the best place you'll find around there. Good meats, good sauce, and a pretty big menu to select from. Donairs, pizzas, Indian food. The place is always busy too, which is a good sign.

It's true, not a lot of good donair selection in the SE, in particular the deep SE. But I'd recommend GCP if you live close by.

I enjoy Shawarma Knights on 14th, but my favourite might be Cedar’s on Edmonton Trail

Still think Donair on the Run in Cochrane is the best place I've had for wraps to date.
Yes its pretty far out of the city for most (Convenient for me however) but if you ever find yourself out this far, give it a try.

I've tried Jerusalem, Little L, Cedars, J AA's, and would put this ahead every time.

I really like Original Donair in Silverado.

Donair Grill is on skip the dishes for free delivery over $20, I get the large beef salad with extra beef from them and it is awesome. I don't really like getting a wrap from skip as it gets soggy.

I don't mind it in a pinch since I'm in New Brighton, but I'll drive to Riverbend for Pita Grill.
