so i had a little project to build with my son... a monster truck storage tire!
super simple - bought a bicycle tire from canadian tire and used up some leftover 1"x4" pieces
we painted the 1"x4" the same colour as the darker wall in his room

the 1"x4" is held in place on both sides of the tire with 1.25" #6 screws - we painted the screw heads black. i found it was better to screw in right by the edge of the tire (thicker rubber)

and the final product with one VERY happy boy and one of many stuffies...

We moved into a new house without an office or a finished basement and the wife needed a place to work!
We're not going to develop the basement in the near future so I decided to build a makeshift office that will work for a year or so. Desks are stupid expensive for what you get so for 150$ I put this together, it was also a nice project to test out my pocket screw jig before I build some baby gates.

My goal for the basement is to build a golf sim down there! That will be an exciting addition to this thread when it gets going.

I've got 9' ceilings with a plan to replace 4 9-3/4" floor joists with 3x2 steel HSS. After everything is said and done with the floor and roof I should have 9'-4" which is more than enough swing room for anyone I golf with.

Great way to kill time and money haha
I'm at an estimated $14,000 so far with all DIY.

Just wanted to share that I recently built this charcuterie board and I’m giving it away this weekend. I’m going to hide it in one of the parks in the city so if you want it you are going to have to find it.
Friday morning I am going to post a riddle on Twitter and Instagram. Decipher the clues and it will lead you to this piece. First one to find it gets to take it home.
https://twitter.com/user/status/1458434494302621699
I am hoping people have some fun with this and any help passing on the message on these platforms would be appreciated.
All the best and if you take part - good luck!

I’m going to post in thread once just because the CP Power ring thread tends to get buried and overlooked.
Yesterday I posted about my Winter Collection that I have available for this year.

This is what's kept me from animating for the last little while...
A good book is a trip to another place. I tried to illustrate that here.
The model is a kid's snap-together kit, the book is a list of sires and Dams from the US Thoroughbred Association, and the seascape and island are photocopied pages from Treasure Island that I stained with watercolours and coated with Mod Podge. I think it works.

Couldn’t agree more, really innovative way to display while paying homage to the “story” if you will. Very creative Puppet Guy.

Where's the go to place to buy model airplanes like that? Used to love it as a kid and I think I would like to get back into it being older with more patience and attention to detail.
