Well they let Davies go to Germany, lol.

I’m not sure what to think of the Iran situation. A lot of me thinks that sport brings people together and breaks down a lot of barriers between people, in general. Not everything is about politics and international relations.

If Europeans thought like our politicians, no one would ever play each other.

France to England when they try to arrange a friendly: You literally KILLED our King in 1412! Go #### yourselves.

Looking at the list on TSN of places in running.

3 from Mexico already set.

3 from Canada. Edmonton well behind any other stadium in the three countries.
Though I wonder what the BMO will look like to get to 50k capacity.

10 in US:
Sofi in LA
Met Stadium NYC
Rose Bowl
Miami
Houston
Dallas
Atlanta
Foxboro
Then a crap shoot for the 2 other spots.
Denver?
Philly?
Santa Clara?
Nashville?
KC?
No Seattle if Vancouver, Seattle will if no Vancouver.
Cincy and Baltimore don't seem sexy enough.

Other US cities have dropped out. Surprised Vegas didn't enter in.

I hope Edmonton gets a few, and Vancouver doesn’t budge in last minute.

I don't even know why Mexico and US agreed to co-host with Canada. They have so many great stadiums on their own. Hell, either country could host on their own. The US could probably host using only college football stadiums.

Helps to have a Canadian as CONCACAF president.

But why not. Especially with the now expanded WC. Mexcio won't be ever to host again solo with these extra games and with their aging stadia, nor will Canada ever with non existent stadia, so throw 20 various group games with Canada and Mexico in their home country, and a few second round games, to be huge events in Canada and Mexico rather then meh events in Nashville or Baltimore.

Both points of view are well made.

My understanding is that FIFA try to rotate through the continental federations and this enables CONCACAF to get matches in the 3 geographically largest regions.

Essentially, give Canada respect/reward for continued growth of the game and the success of the women’s World Cup.

Some group matches in Canada? Tremendous energy and sellouts will be guaranteed. That’s what FIFA want. I’m personally stunned that I will be able to see a World Cup match in Canada.

Great for Canada for sure, and I’m not complaining.

But imagine hosting the World Cup and Seattle doesn’t get a match. That’s crazy town, and it makes me wonder why the Americans would agree to that.

I feel like that Seattle/Vancouver scenario makes it more likely Edmonton gets it ahead of Vancouver.

Big get here is Luca Koleosho who was an option to play for the US as well. 17 years old and just made his debut in LaLiga.

Very strong squad by Canada going into Nations League. Outside of Millar (who is injured) I can't think of any major absences.

Koelosho is a good get, and the nations league game against Curacao is a perfect time to cap-tie him. Also Edwards' resurgence in MLS this year means he makes a surprise return.

Nice looking squad, Brym is making a well deserved return.

Selfishly would've like to have seen Mitrovic get a call and another right footed CB join the fold in case of injuries in the fall

I understand why. But if this is the case then it never should've been ok'd in the first place

Is Iran playing their other rumoured friendlies here still or are their Visas cancelled?

Herdman has gotta be livid
