I need a new TV series to get into (old or new) v2
The first episode of “We Own This City” was great. My only complaint is Jon Bernthal’s character bears a very uncanny resemblance to Simple Jack and it is a little distracting.
I've finally gotten around to Reacher. Only 4 episodes in, but so far its been pretty enjoyable.
I didn't mind the Tom Cruise movies, but now get the outrage that fans had with Cruise portraying Reacher... the physically intimidating presence of Alan Ritchson is quite a difference from Cruise.
I just finished the latest episode of Moon Knight, and I just want to quickly stress how much I hate this nonsense of having to wait a week to watch the next one.

How the hell did I manage before the Internet?

Seems to be a big divide with this show. Lots of people say it's terrible and others think it's great.

I like it actually. It builds anticipation and keeps all the internet at the same pace which is nice for discussion and spoilers etc

I like it but wouldn't say it's great. My Wife is struggling more than normal with it, she says it's way too confusing.
I think you really have to like the Stephen character to like the show, so that you can feel is pain when you get to Ep5, we'll see what Ep6 brings. the Marvel streaming formula seems to be confuse the audience for 3 episodes, build up way too many narrative threads in episode 4, give a big emotional character payoff in episode 5, then struggle to tie up all of those narrative threads in episode 6.
I don't see this show deviating from that all that much, even though the show has done some weird stuff. And I have generally been pretty forgiving of the finale problems knowing that its become more of a serial than a contained narrative, but understand how that can frustrating to people who don't make a point of watching every addition.
The one thing I think is undeniably great is Issacs performance.
The first few episodes of MacGruber are inconsistent but by episode 6 it's firing on all cylinders. I've always thought Will Forte can do top tier comedy, but he's inconsistent and a bit one-dimensional. I've never really cared for the SNL sketch or even seen the movie, so the show's really surprised me with how good its gotten. Lot's of hyper-violence and crude sex.

Yah,
Tom Cruise at 5 foot 4 and 150 pounds versus 6 foot 5 280 pound Ritchson.
There is a difference.
That said I liked the movies and liked the tv series.
I would never be afraid of fighting tom cruise. I would be scared of his lawyers.
Ritchson though, I would say sorry sir, I have made a lot of bad choices in my life sir. Please dont hurt me!
I bailed on one of the video games ~15 years ago, and had little idea what to expect. Now I kind of want to go play one of the games.
A ton of attention was paid to the design and look of the show, I was expecting something lower budget à la the SyFy channel.
I am quite surprised by how much money they put into the special effects as it's pretty solid for a series as it blows away something like Raised by Wolves and generally anything outside of Disney Star Wars shows. The Covenant look really good. My 14 year old boy loves the show but I find it just okay although we are a few episodes behind. I didn't expect the Master Chief to be depicted the way they have.

I thought Cruise was more 5'8". I get that he wears platform shoes but it would be pretty hard to hide a 5'4" guy in the amount of action movies he's been in.
