They may be lacking in the skill department, but there is some serious character and mental toughness to these Blue Jackets.
Blow a 3 goal lead in the 3rd to the Leafs in Game 4? No problem, eliminate them by shutout next game;
Lose a heartbreaking 5 OT game to the Lightning? No problem, come back and win the next game.
It's easy to root for them against the Leafs and Lightning, but they deserve the support on their own.

Man Tampa has to be so frustrated.
121 saves on 125 shots in the series for Korpisalo. Will be interesting to see if Tampa can take over here, or if Columbus can keep up the momentum.

Man I wish we could have pried Korpisalo the year before they knew what they were doing with their goaltending. Dudes having that kind.9f breakout performance seen every 5 to 10 years. 85 saves man.....85.

I think Andersson fooled a lot of leaf fans into thinking they had a good team.
They were dead wrong. Leafs have a team that has some talent but a very mediocre work ethic.
Oh..and by the way, I’d take Dubois over Matthews, Tavares or Marner.

Yup. Columbus are a good team with a great coach and they’re committed to the system, but at the end of the day they’re just a good team. Koripsalo is the reason they can run over a team like the Leafs and despite being outshot and outhit by the Lightning badly, still come out with a win. He’s playing like an elite one-of-a-kind goaltender right now, and that gives any team the confidence to stick to their system.
People call it “will” or “work ethic” or “determination” or whatever, but they’re just a good team playing sound hockey with an all-world goaltender behind them. You can bet Tampa has just as much “will” and desire to walk away with this series, but you can’t will yourself a goal just like you can’t hope and pray problems away. Tampa just has to keep playing the way they’re playing, hope the bounces go their way, and hope Korpisalo fades a little bit. But they’re not winning this series just because they want to, and that’s not why Columbus is winning it either.

Korpisalo has been great, but so has the D in front of him. They have a smothering team defense, and they are very, very steady as a team.
They are definitely more than just a hot goalie.

Dubois over Matthews? Just being a hater with that comment. Matthews has never scored less than 34 goals and has 2 40+ goal seasons in his 4 years in the league. Over ppg for his career and his defensive game is coming around.
Dubois has 49pts this year. Matthews has 47 goals

I pity this fool.
Matthews has 2 goals and 5 assists.
Dubois had 3 goals and 1 assist.
There were a lot of disappointing Leafs but Matthews was not one. He was the best player of either team not counting the BJs goalies.
