Altitude is owned by Stanley Kroenke who also owns Colorado Avalanche. So in a way, Altitude is owned by the Avalanche so they are cheerleader of some sort. On the other hand, Staples are supposed to be a independent sport journalist. Unless, he is owned by Katz in turn owned by the Oilers.

I used to live with a die hard Avs fan, and even he can't stand them. I think a part of the issue is that they are critically underfunded, and anytime anyone with talent walks through the broadcast team, they go where they can get paid.
