This may come back in an extreme manner, but has anyone else ever found that faith is a way to be lazy about seeking an explanation? Like a way to give comfort about giving up.

I wasn't intimating you were anything in particular. That was a general statement, not a targeted one. I might start intimating stuff pretty quick though, all things considered. *snicker*

If someone can point out an actual miracle that can't be explained by anything other than divine intervention I would be shocked.
It sounds closer to you having hurt feelings more than anything else... not everyone has to agree or even respect your opinion, just your right to have your opinion... look at scientology, I think it is hilariously stupid garbage that is designed to separate people from their money for the sake of the "church" if you want to believe in Xenu, go for it, as long as no one is hurt pray to whoever makes you feel randy about god.
My opinion is man is going to destroy himself and this world with nuclear weapons. I just hope i'm dead when it does happen.

From the stories above, the Uganda one seems very scary. It's one thing to ignore homosexuals and/or perhaps gays are illegal in some countries due to laws past hundreds of years ago. But to today, in 2013, pass a law that would arrest and kill them? That's scary.
And I also heard that Uganda is a popular destination for missionaries. How did that come about?

I watched a short documentary about it a few years ago, it is very scary.

I find it to be extremely ignorant.
"God did it" is not an answer. With time, everything can be explained with science.
The day we stop searching for answers is the day we stop moving forward as a society, IMO.
