We used to hit up Marv's often a few years back. They seemed to have gone down hill our last few visits though. I would like to know how it is now.

Pretty sure Chuckwagon is closed for the time being.

Soft rock bistro (across from Marv’s) and the corner cafe near Millarville have good burgers too. Both are call and pick up for now. Little New York Bistro also has a more Mediterranean spice with their burgers, but I haven’t tried them during covid.

It's doing really well as of this moment. You can phone in your order ahead of time or pull up to the drive in window and place your order. People wait in their vehicles and they call you on your cell phone when it's ready. Walk up to take out window and they give you your order.

The HP burger is the best and the same for the shakes and deep fried battered mushrooms!

You have to wait a bit but your order is always hot and fresh.

My mother wants to get there for mothers day

Westwood down government drive in black diamond is pretty good too.

I really enjoy HP, It's sad how their location has changed since the flood, but so be it.

Will be hitting it up next week hopefully.

Wife and I had the Al Pastor tacos from Con Mi Taco. Pretty good, though we are die hard flour tortilla eaters. Thanks for the recommendation!

I did Bridget Bar today for dinner. Was very good and they included the Calgary Chefs cookbook as a Mother’s Day gift.

Next weeks desert looks really good. A peanut butter chocolate ganache with toffee.

Already pre-ordered Bridgette Bar for later this week and just had some goodies delivered from Empire Provisions that I'm excited to try out.

Looks like Blink won't be reopening which is a shame as I've had a handful of great meals there over the years.

Did Bar Von Der Fels this weekend and it was good. They did a Thai menu.

I don't want to fault them but their food reheated is not the way to enjoy it. The curry noodle dish and hassle back potatoes w/ crab stole the show. The rest was just ok.

Kind of a shame when they nail their menu it is among the best I have ever had anywhere, but their ambiance plays a big part.

We went to Black Diamond on Friday. Ordered some milkshakes from Marv's. It was decent. Real ice cream/milk style milkshakes (no real fruit though).

We also went to the bakery next door, Kaiser's Cakery. It's a German Style bakery, that had lots of different rye breads, German pastries (bavarian cream filled pretzels, donuts, tarts, almond croissants, etc). When we got there, the pretzels were baking in the oven so we ordered a few fresh pretzels, straight from the oven. To die for.

For those of you that ordered kits from Con Mi Taco; how did they package everything? We did an order from Salt n Pepper on Saturday and they did an absolute terrible job of packing the order, so most of the tortillas were soggy by the time we got it. Much disappoint.

Looks like Royale on 17th avenue has announced that they are now permanently closed. I wont be surprised to hear other establishments following suit. Restaurant business is hard enough as it is, but Covid-19 has been really really rough on them.
