We've been calling the NHL series "CHEL" for as long as I can remember. I'm 30 years old, and still refer to it as "CHEL" when I'm getting a few buddies together for a gaming session.

I'm in the same age bracket and before 8 months ago I've never heard it called that.

Been playing since 92.

It might just be in the circles you run with.

The urban dictionary entry is back from 2010 (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=chel), so it's definitely been around for a while.

I didn't start hearing about it until a year or two ago. I hoped it was just a small group of high-schoolers using it and that it would die out. But then EA started promoting it with that lame commercial Hellebuyck is in where even he looks embarrassed.

If EA ever hired me and asked for my input telling them to stop promoting it would be one of my suggestions.

I just want them to bring Bigheads back (NHL arcade from back a few years ago). That was the most fun way to play for me.

Weird I ordered from Walmart too... I didn't get a shipping notice. I got a download code. Was I able to select the option for a physical game? I dont really remember.

The code I got was just for the pre order bonuses and it came this morning. Wal-Mart is never usually early and almost always days after release so its odd.

I also got the preorder code (it's for HUT packs), still no shipping notice.

This is also the first time I had a game shipped to the post office, maybe they send them early and don't release them until street date. Probably not but possible. Can't wait to check it out haven't played or seen anything about 19

I find my game crashes a lot, especially in customization screens like Create a Team.

This was a blast - thanks for organizing this!

I'm glad all those hours of playing the NHL series finally paid off

36 years old here. Bought the first NHL the first week it came out and played avidly until the 97 edition came out. Remained off and on until 2005 but haven't really touched it since.

If any of the people I rolled with even accidentally called it "chel" we would have been beaten up and ostracized for life. Possibly killed. Dumb name.

I've heard it called chel for years by buddies and teammates, never thought much of it one way or the other.

Picked this up, first time owning an NHL game in years. For someone who hasn’t been playing it much lately it’s a totally different, awesome experience.

Threes is also surprisingly fun. It’s going to be a great mode to play with friends.

Well World of Chel - 3's doesn't have big heads but it's basically the arcade version you'd like. Our crew just finished playing NHL 19 for 48 straight hours and this was my favorite game mode.
