As per what I’m told ; @ArizonaCoyotes send F Nick Merkley, and Nate Schnarr, D-Man Kevin Bahl, conditional 1st Rd 2020 pick and conditional 3rd Rd 2021 pick for Hall from @NJDevils .

Wow. That is underwhelming and then some. Still better than Larsson one-for-one, but pretty underwhelming.

Seems pretty good for AZ, in particular if the condition on the 1st is Hall re-signing.

What don't you like about Merkely? Seems to have pretty good numbers for a young guy.

It would be fun to see both San Jose and Arizona miss the play-offs and miss out on lottery picks.

Would the 1st really be conditional on him re-signing? If so I really don't like this trade for NJ.

I imagine the first is tied to the Yotes making the playoffs. If it is your case that is not bad for the Yotes. Still doesn't put them in the contender category imo though.

so one 1st plus and the 3rd can become a 1st or a 2nd
Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
There's a hard 1st-round pick in the Hall trade PLUS another conditional 1st-round pick IF the Coyotes re-sign Hall AND win a playoff round. The conditional pick becomes a third-round pick if neither of those things happen. And a 2nd-round pick if one of those 2 things happen

Man brutal... we could have easily paid that package and got Hall for half price on the year to boot.

There is no way they retain and have that as the condition.

Hard first plus a conditional first based on re-signing and winning playoff round. 3rd if neither happens, 2nd if one

Totally agree. I have no idea what the conditions are. Just spit-balling.
Edit: Hard 1st, but conditional additional first. Makes more sense
