The St. Louis Blues have made their decision on whether to sign professional tryout Troy Brouwer to an NHL contract.
Brouwer, who played one season with the Blues in 2015-16 and helped lead the club to its first Western Conference Final appearance in 15 years, will remain with the Blues for now.
Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong signed Brouwer to a one-year, two-way contract worth $750,000 on Wednesday night.

Didn't expect him to be back in the league, but he's a nice guy and I'm glad he's getting another shot.

Just in time for him to score a hat trick against the Flames tomorrow.

Brouwer primarily played with Fabbri and Stastny in 2016. Both those guys are gone now.

Well I’m surprised.
Obviously Brouwer was a disaster here but he was unfairly criticized by many fans because of his so called lack of remorse or accountability during media interviews.

Too bad Chris Butler retired or they'd have quite a collection of Flames whipping boys.

Makes no sense at all. Blues don't need Brouwer occupying any spot in their organization and he is so done.
Strange move to say the least.

Wow???
F Brouwer. Garbage player, who lucked out an a bigger idiot signing him to that contract.
I can't blame a player for signing a contract above his weight class, but as a fan, f him for not delivering to the expected value of the contract he signed.
Brouwer sucks. Congratulations on being signed to your true value, just to stay in the league loser (league min).
That being said, congrats on signing an nhl deal.

Was it unfair? Some of his comments were downright puzzling. If I recall correctly still used the excuse of trying to fit in with his new team a year and a half after being here. There was also something about Gaudreau being chopped, not sure off the top of my head though.

Judging a player’s desire or commitment by how media savvy they are is folly IMO.

Brouwer is well spoken and was doing things for the Fan960 as recently as last week I think, pretty media aware. Generally speaking sport fans tend to be unfair but Brouwer's comments were just... weird.

Memories are short around here.
Brouwer had one of the lowest compete levels I've ever witnessed on the Flames. It was almost as bad as Neal's.
He very rarely stood up for teammates and very rarely used his body.
I'm shocked a team would sign him. The only reason he got a contract is because it's the Blues and they have a soft spot for him. He won't play much in the NHL, if at all.
