To me the opportunity that has potentially come up to move Frolik or Jankowski is Montreal.
In a playoff spot. Have a load of cap space, and just lost Drouin and Byron to longer term injuries, and were reportedly looking for forward help before that even.
A guy like Frolik who is a UFA that will probably come at a low acquisition cost, and who is a bit of a swiss army knife in his ability to play both wings would probably be a pretty good fit there right now.
Jankowski is a guy they had interest in previously, and he could provide help at centre.

Who will take Jankowski and Frolik, who have 0 and 3 points respectively? It will have to be a junk for junk trade

Jankowski's 0 points and Frolik's 3 points are sure to get a lot of interest.
Jankowski is the most dispassionate player I have ever seen (worse than Neal), and without the talent to allow him to do so. There was one play in particular when it was 3-1, with an Avalanche in the Flames corner holding the puck, with Jankowski just watching. In his mind he probably though he should do something, he gave the Ave a gentle check that barely made him flinch.
The Avs won the puck battle, not surprisingly.

They would both clear, no one is interested in dead cap space on their roster.

I am of the opinion that selling him now, is selling him high. At 26 he will not be any more attractive.

He's 25 now. At this rate he will be a career AHLer by 26. He's got to turn things around before season's end or he will be in PTO territory next year.

There was likely little to no value on Frolik before the season started.
His value is negative now.
Cap space is King now, and Frolik simply takes up too much.

Lol, remember when Jankowski was hyped to be the "best player out of the draft in 5 years"

The dossier on Jankowski was obviously missing a few pages. There is no other explanation.

My question is why has he regressed so badly? He's never played with any jam but he scored 17 goals in 72 games two years ago and 14 last year (with an uptick in points) He's currently at zero! Maybe your point about dumb is correct as he's in a contract year and this won't help him any.

Traded down to skip Wilson and Vasilevski. That stings.

To be fair it was 10 years. He was always considered a 5 year project before he would be NHL ready

It was a mistake not to move Frolik as soon as he pouted about his ice time last year (or two years ago?). Simple as that. Now the Flames are stuck with him until the trade deadline where he might garner a late rounder.

Last night he had a player lined up to hit in the corner and he just peeled off it was so weird to see but not unexpected

Sounds like Pinder and Steinberg are going to discuss trading Gaudreau right away on their show.

All this trade talk is either going to hurt or fire up Gaudreau. I am hoping for the latter.
