Default I think the reason why the Flames are losing is that the players don't want to here?

i'm beginning to see a trend in the NHL that teams from the "sun belt" (phoenix, tampa bay, florida) are doing well compared to hockey market teams...

i think some of players in calgary don't want to be here, looking at you gaudreau and monihan!!!!! thus they are playing like sh*t.....

the players in non hockey markets are playing so well compared to hockey markets..

there are no media pressure, not like in toronto....also places like tampa bay don't have higher tax brackets compared to montreal, where players have to pay higher taxes....

also free agents, in their NMC, don't want to play in certain hockey markets...just recently the mike stone trade, in his NTMC, had calgary as place not be traded to....signed vegas because the city is sexy and has no media pressure compared to cold, media pressure in calgary....

i know i might be bushed by creating this thread...i would like to see calgary do well as a hockey market however with the reality is that calgary is not a favorable market for players....free agent or non free agents....

Might as well fold the franchise, then, am I right?

I think the bigger media spot light and heightened level of pressure is a huge contributor to the 25 years of futility we've seen from the Canadian based franchises.

There is no patience here, and the players have a lot less privacy/anonymity than they would in an American market.

I can't help but notice only 1* Stanley Cup between the 3 teams you mentioned in the OP.

*It was in!!

If you’re going to expect to be taken seriously at least get your facts, names and spelling correct.

We have to create a exclusive culture, like the Bruins and not be afraid to trade big names. Everyone laughed at the bruins when they traded away jumbo joe, kessel, Hamilton and seguin but you can’t argue with the results

"I think the reason why the Flames are losing is that the players don't want to here?"

Are you asking if this is what you think?

Tampa this year, not doing that great, San Jose, LA, Dallas not doing all that great either. Montreal has been somewhat surprising.

Goddamn Dynasties like the Panthers, Coyotes, and Anaheim... If only cold cities like Detroit, Pittsburgh, Washington and Chicago could catch a break... I think the reason a Canadian team hasn't won in a long time comes down to a couple of factors: 1) I would say there are 4 maybe 5 desirable Canadian cities to play in, I include Calgary in this because I do think it is a nice city, and I doubt many players would hate to play here... but it likely has an effect on how competitive some Canadian teams can be.
2) Math. 7/31(30) - Canada has roughly a 22-23% chance of winning the cup in any given year. While statistically we should have won it a couple of times in the salary cap era, it's not as unlikely as people make it seem.
