Defence wins championships. One more shot at a ring before a number of potential changes on both sides of the ball.

Looks like we're going to Edmonton... Go Stamps Goooooooooooooooo!

Bombers played well to hang in there as it was a hell of a day from Medlock punting and kicking but the Stampeders showed today why they have the best defense in the league. Nichols had nothing to throw to all day.

Hahahahahahaha!!!!! Edmonton is no good!

CFL fans in Edmonton would rather not see Calgary in Grey Cup

Quote:
Around the nation it might be dramatically different. But in the host city of the 106th Grey Cup game, if they could make the match, the fans in Edmonton would choose a Winnipeg-Hamilton (47.4%) Grey Cup game.

In all there were 903 people that responded to our website poll, and the majority stuck to the age-old ABC philosophy embraced by Edmonton fans for generations — Anybody But Calgary.

Yes, despite the wonderful opportunity to reciprocate to the way Calgary fans embraced Edmonton fans when the Eskimos went down to McMahon Stadium and won both the 1975 and 1993 Grey Cups in the Cowtown, Edmonton wants none of it.

It’s one thing for Edmonton to not even make the playoffs this year, but for the Stampeders to move into the Eskimos dressing room for the week is apparently unthinkable.

Eskimos have one of the nicest locker rooms in the league. Kind of of Edmonton to provide Bo and company with such nice accomodations.

I've gotten used to Grey Cup disappointment with this team, so my expectations going into next week are lower this time. Let's hope they play like we know they can and bring it home this year.

Go Stamps!

Great defense today. Winnipeg could never get a passing game going. Broke a couple runs, but didn’t run crazy either. Stamps offence stepped up when needed.

Turned out to be pretty good weather at the game today, just a few random raindrops, never even got as much as drizzling. Warmer than most other years. No annoying opposing team fans.

Great defensive effort today pretty much holding the Bombers off the board. If I have any criticism its the offensive line and especially the tackles, their technique both footwork and hands wise is just terrible.

The line has to be a lot better next week.

Just got back from the Western final. Going to my third Grey Cup next week. I’m 0-2 seeing the Stampeders (2012 and 2017) Here’s hoping third time’s a charm!

Oh before I forget, how moronic was it for Winnipeg to kick the FG on second down with 40 seconds left? Why not at least take a shot at the end zone, and kick on 3rd down?

If there were only 15-20 seconds left there, you probably kick the FG on second down. But never wth 42 seconds remaining.

You need a TD and a FG, you don’t settle for a FG until either:
You risk not getting any points, ie it’s third down, or
You have to leave enough time on the clock to make scoring a second time even possible

I'm thinking about it. I want to wait a few days to see what the forecast is and what seats are available.

Well this season has to be a positive for them as it's the furthest they have come in a while. It's not like they were the better team and lost. They just aren't as good of a team as the Stampeders.
