Wow, I wonder where he will end up. I think the Rangers already have goalies, no? I think they might be going for a big fish like Taylor Hall or Alex Pietrangelo .. especially after that Marc Staal move.

This has been expected for a while and is more about Shesterkin and Geogiev than cap space.

the buyout will be a cap hit of $5.5 mil for 20/21 and $1.5mil for 21/22.
Move frees up $3 mil in cap space for 20/21 at the cost of $1.5 mil the following season.
