Not watching any of the TV coverage...
Any rumblings on anything credible towards any offer sheets? There was a bit in regards to Aho earlier today, anything else?

The only thing good was Kypreos saying that Burke's Penner offer sheet is the only one that has turned out with a player moving teams and that Burke would have had no chance against Lowe in a rumble.

Thats what an offer sheet is and how it works.
A team makes an offer to the player...the player then signs it or doesn't. If he does, its a binding contract that either gets matched or not.
There are no offer sheets that are not accpted by the player.

If you had to compile a list of top ten players without a contract this morning it would probably look something like this.
- LW - Ryan Dzingel (CBJ) // age 27 // shoots left // 26 G, 56 P in 78 GP
- LW- Micheal Ferland (CAR) // age 27 // shoots left // 17 G, 40 P in 71 GP
- D - Jake Gardiner (TOR) // age 28 // shoots left // 3 G, 30 P, 21:12 ATOI in 62 GP
- C- Joe Thornton (SJ) // age 39 // shoots left // 16 G, 51 P in 73 GP
- LW- Marcus Johansson (BOS) // age 28 // shoots left // 13 G, 30 P in 58 GP
- RW- Patrick Maroon (STL) // age 31 // shoots left // 10 G, 28 P in 74 GP
- RW - Josh Archibald (ARI) // age 26 // shoots right // 12 G, 22 P in 68 GP
- RW - Pontus Aberg (MIN) // age 25 // shoots right // 12 G, 25 P in 59 GP
- D- Ben Hutton (VAN) // age 26 // shoots left // 5 G, 20 P, 22:21 ATOI in 69 GP
- D- Ben Chiarot (WPG) // age 28 // shoots left // 5 G, 20 P, 18:36 ATOI in 78 GP

I'd probably throw Williams, Brassard, Marleau, and Vanek in there as HMs.
Anyhow the OP has been completely updated once more.

Statistically, you'd be right, but all those except Brassard are over 35, I am not afraid to let my prejudice be known, I think that signing UFAs over thirty is harmful to any team, except for in very rare cases.

OP updated once again with some more signings. Del Zotto, Wideman, Ferland, Dzingel, etc off the board. Still plenty of interesting players available.

Jake Gardiner really is the last of the "quality" players. By that I mean not so old that they might be a liability.

I might be intrigued by taking a flyer on Jamie McGinn at a low salary. Big body who can throw some hits (and has). At 30, he's not super old. Has some scoring talent too.
