I broke my own tenure rule and went with the better player.

Honestly I think he was probably better in 13 games than Granlund was in 85

Backlund already won a real number, and Granlund was not as bad as some recent winners, will give it to him

I liked Granlund when he was here, but he has tainted his legacy by playing for the Nucks and Oilers.

I remember watching him at the World Jrs and thinking that he already had an NHL-calibre shot. It's just too bad he was never able to round out the rest of his game.

Went with Granlund, since Backlund went on to wear 11. Though sucks that Granlund has gone on to play for both the Canucks and Oilers

Wanted to go with Backlund as he was my only thought when I pictured 60 but had to stick with my primary number rule

Definitely Granlund although I always found 60 to be such a visually unappealing number on a jersey. I dunno why.

I hoped so much Granlund was going to be a core piece. Never panned out and then never really grabbed a footing anywhere else. Sucks.

Ah well.

That’s hilarious! My first thought when I saw this thread title: “Ugh, what an ugly number!”

Had to go Backlund, just because Granlund was so frustrating. He would flash some serious potential and then disappear for 20 games. So frustrating.

Most players are good enough to look great in stretches. Consistency is what separates the the top players. Granlund never had the right tools for top 6 work outside of his shot and he was too small to be a good bottom 6 guy. Classic tweener not unlike lundmark, boyd, baertschi, dawes, etc
