31 games is a pretty fair sample size...it's more than a 1/3 of the season. Even if James Neal suddenly became Tkachuk like and a PPG from now until the end of the season, his point total would still be in the 50s...

This is a good opportunity to put some points on the board against a struggling team and get back to winning ways and get over the stupid blip that was that Edmonton game.

For me the head scratcher is that it seems like people don't want our players to succeed. It was the same when Smith was struggling. Folks (in general obviously, not everyone) were so angry with every start, whereas it was in our teams best interest to give him a shot to get going. It's like you have to weigh potential benefit vs how it can go wrong. If Neal suddenly reminds his scoring touch. That is good for our hockey team. I mean, who knows, maybe a scratch will help him? Maybe some time on the top 6? Who knows? Not you. Not me. But I'm happy to let Peters try some tactics.

Glad Gio will be back this game. I expect he'll be coming in motivated to get the team right back to winning and pushing to climb past Toronto as the next step.

WHYYYYYY Is Peters putting Ryan as #2C. If Johnny and the first line dont have a great night we will lose. Ryan just smothers any offense.

I think keeping Janko in the bottom 6 creates more depth so he can run all lines. If Janko and Ryan trade places then our bottom 6 looks alot worse in my opinion

This seems like a weird start time for an eastern conference game no?

I would put Russell in for Kylington, simply for the experience and not having to go with a pair of rookies. (though you didn't ask it, that is also where I would slot Nurse)
Benning is eating popcorn. And when there is an injury, it's Kylington getting the call, not Benning.

Yeah. That's the thing. Ryan is real good at suppressing the opposing team's offense but he also suppresses the Flames offense just as well.

I don't understand how a team with a roster like the Flyers have, can be so perpetually average.
It can't 100% be on goaltending.
That's a pretty deep team, with decent high end talent.

It's partially goaltending and partially due to the fact they have pretty much no one committed to and some not good enough to actually play real defense.

I have a lousy feeling about this game. Like last year, we'll let them stay in it until they get a softy or two, then their confidence will grow, and the next thing you know, we're down 4-2 even though we were the better team most of the night.
Prove me wrong boys.

Same reason as Calgary the last two years
Flyers have goaltending issues sure, but they have good talent and decent depth. But they have quite possibly the worst coach in the league
