Flames played the system to start the game, which usually results in being down a few goals. Then the game plan gets switched up and we score a few. Rinse repeat at home. This is so a coaching problem it's not even funny. Ward literally has the team playing the opposite of what makes them successful I wonder if he's all there.

I don’t think it’s odd at all. I think it was always the plan to get a new HC after the season ends. In fact, Ward may be gone completely if the new HC wants his own guys.

How did Ward cause a freak deflection off a stick?

Chill out guys. They weren't going to go undefeated on the home stand with the inconsistency here, or the rest of the way. Have to absorb the inevitable bumps in this stretch run. You just hope there is more smooth sailing than not.

Don't worry, I hate Vegas too.

That's not a good stat. Monahan and Lindholm weren't very good in this game, nor was Giordano. Tough to win when multiple top players have stinkers. I don't get starting Rittich. Ward should have played Talbot until he lost. This is way too late in the season to be using games to get a goaltender going. This was a crucial 4 point game and if anything Rittich's confidence is even going to be worse going into his next start. Seems like they had a good situation of a goaltender being on a roll and instead of taking it as far as it will go he disrupts it.

Button ripped Rittich on TSN over the last goal. Called it terrible goaltending. Said he should have been upright and hugging the post. Left too much open up top. Can’t say he’s totally wrong.

No, the teams with 74-75 points on the bubble need other teams to lose in order to make the playoffs.

I definitely think Rittich has the yips. Just second guesses everything, even playing the puck. His confidence is clearly not good at the moment, but it would help if he didn't lose his net as much. Work on that and hopefully good Rittich will show up in time for the playoffs.

Imagine being an adult in Calgary that shows up to a game wearing a Vegas jersey.

Yikes.

Boy this place gets emotional after a loss. Hahaha. Bad luck bounce but at least they fought back. If they just wilted after being down early I'd be a lot more upset.

Yeah, I would not be upset if Treliving went goalie shopping this summer. And not just backup goalie shopping. I just don't think Rittich is the guy. He's let in too many soft goals this season for my liking. As a backup or 1b I don't mind him though.

well with 13 games left I think that's to be expected in some way

Monahan is such an enigma this season. The only thing he's got going for him is the goal stat. Considering he worked hard this off season to become a better two player, it hasn't showed at all. His team worst -15 is really deserved.

It is too bad that the Flames haven't lucked into a true #1C. Monahan was solid 6 overall but he just hasn't been able to take the next step. I don't think Lindholm can either.

Didn’t watch much of the game but tuned in for 10 minutes to listen to Leah. Thought she was really good and hope she lands with a gig somewhere.

Sucks to draft two centers at 4 and 6 and not get a true #1.

Everyone here is taking about how Rittich could've done better on the last goal, but what the hell was he doing on the first goal? He was completely backwards facing the end boards...

This has been sustained for quite some time now. It's not gonna get resolved for the rest of the season. The games are just getting bigger, and he's gonna get even more in his head.

Gotta lean more on Talbot from here on out.
