I don’t really think there was anything wrong with what he said. He wasn’t ####ting on the person who made the puzzles, just used the story as a way to #### on the Oilers. Very acceptable here.

Was just talking with an Oiler fan who legit just said "we'll see where the chips lie at the end of their careers in who was better between Tkachuk and Puljujarvi". My God.

Oilers fans are just completely out of their minds. Yeah cool, I guess we'll see at the end of who was better between Bennett and Drysaddle too I guess..

Ask him how that’s working out out between Yakupov & Jankowski.

I’m sure the retort will be chalk full of delusional false equivalency.

The Oilers got a 3rd Round pick... the Flames... cap space.
Of course 1st & 21st overall are the same.
Much like still having a contract in the league is just like being a suitcase in the KHL.

Don't worry, it was very clear you were ripping the Oilers & not the guy making puzzles.
Don't let some jerk here try to make himself feel better by intentionally misinterpreting you.

And to others, was less acceptable on face value. Just the way it is.

I was really ticked when I saw that PoolParty had re-upped with the Oil. I wanted him to spurn them forevermore. I feel that perhaps he is ready for a second go-round in the NHL, and I don't want any future success to come with that team.

Imagine the damage the world junior bubble will have on the development of those players. The water quality and obvious stink has always proven to be detrimental to young Hockey players.

Isn't our defence prospect outperforming him in the Finnish league right now?

How's he going to match or surpass Tkachuk in the NHL if he can barely keep par with Valimaki in the Liiga? Lol.

Oh dude, especially after living there as long as I did, Greaser fans' delusions of grandeur is truly something to behold. Especially in the off-season. The funniest part is they don't even see how they're an annoying fan base...just zero self-awareness of them and their team.

Don't worry, he won't. He doesn't have the mental tool box for the NHL ice and faster better NHL players.

Its a massive jump from that league to the NHL and Poolparty proved that he was barely an AHL player.

This is a real post from HF boards.

I was never a big fan of pulju, but during the last two years he has finally evolved to the player some posters saw back in the draft when they said Pulju>Laine. I was always higher on Laine but my view has recently changed. If everything clicks, In my view he can be the better two way player of the two while still being the better playmaker and goal scorer of the two as soon as next season. Perhaps even a Kurri like career as a goal scorer. I'm stoked to see Pulju 2.0 in the NHL, it will be like night and day compared to his last stint, mark my words.

He was playing in the equivalency of a beer league compared to the NHL, he should have been even more dominant. He should have been the Gretzky of his league.

the Tkachuk comparison is hilarious, but it does bring up the fact that there are a few draft comparisons that should be fun to track. The lopsided ones are:

2016: Puljujarvi (4), Tkachuk (6)
2014: Draisaitl (3), Bennett (4)

but some of the others are interesting too:

2013: Nurse (7), Monahan (6)
2017: Yamamoto (22), Valimaki (16)
2020: Holloway (14), Zary (24)

The average pick for EDM with those 5 is 10, while the avg CGY pick is 11, so essentially, the oil are picking right in front of the Flames for each of the 5 years (on avg).

Pretty interesting when you look at the 3 early ones, you have

Draisaitl + Nurse + Puljujarvi vs Tkachuk + Monahan + Bennett

And of course, there is also this one...

2011: Nugent-Hopkins (1), Gaudreau (104)

but that is a different conversation.

btw... I didn't pick those years by cherry picking, I simply listed all the years where the two teams drafted reasonably close together. And I only considered 1st round picks (other than the Gaudreau shot)

But if you think about it without bias, it is pretty interesting and pretty even. Ranking the players, as they stand right now, you get:

Draisaitl
Tkachuk
Monahan
Nurse
Bennett
Puljujarvi
