just want to thank those that recommended survivor au. as a lifetime fan of the show this has really brought my excitement back to the series. it's really a shame what has happened lately to the american series.

Halfway into the latest season of au and it's amazing.

If you are really hardcore the previous two seasons were also amazing. The one before last is up there with my favorite ever seasons including all US seasons.

The timing is kinda nice too because there should be another season in the Summer sometime and then American starts in the fall. Fills in the gaps if you are a massive survivor fan like me.

Tonight's tribal was messy but fun... probably the first time the protect a vote/risk a vote twist actually created drama. Daniel really messed up his game, no one will trust him now.

Chanelle's decision to risk her vote made no sense... she totally gave off the impression to Omar that she needed her vote tonight, then goes and does the opposite.

Jonathan was a beast in that challenge

the only person in the entire cast that could actually complete the challenge...Mary Anne gets two advantages and immediately tells her entire tribe. Seriously where did they find these people.

Incompetence at tribal did create some interesting drama. I think Daniel is fine for now...he knows about no votes idol and knows he will continue to not have a vote.

I can't quite tell if Daniel totally fumbled, or played them all like a fiddle. Like, who sits there and says "I'm your vote, tell me who to vote for" unless he is trying to distance himself from his first vote? Once he realized his alliance may not have votes in the future, he saw where the power could lie. So he switched quickly, and pinned the first vote on someone telling him what to do, and he did it very publicly. This allowed him to save face with his new alliance. As long as those 3 stay together, they can control it.

Or he could just be the worst lawyer ever. Watching him lose everything is either a sign of incompetence, or his mind working on more important stuff. Some brilliant people are totally careless in that regard.

Well well! That was a better episode than I expected.

Jonathan continues his beast mode
Risk your vote finally does what it’s supposed to
Daniel is playing lawyer to a tee.
And both of my players (and Cheese’s) cannot vote….

GirlySports & White Tiger both take their first hits.

I think Hai, Lydia and Daniel(the smart version) could be very capable if they make the merge intact.

I suspect Jonathan gets turned on before the merge, or early after. He's just to obviously a winner.

for sure, he will win any physical challenge...I've seen someone carry a team in a challenge before but he actually had team mates on his back so they didn't drown while doing everything else himself

Well...it was interesting to see Jon beast-mode that challenge. Dear Survivor Execs...this is why you need SOME sort of muscle on a team.

I have to wonder WTF Chanelle expected, going on and on and on and on and on about how she can't possibly lose her vote for tonight's tribal, then risking it. Of course if you tell the one other person that you can't do anything to risk your vote, THEY are going to do it.

Tribal...well, that was an amusing mess. I am wondering if Daniel played a smart, or got lucky. Guess we'll see.

Finally caught up.

I think Jonathan’s advantage in that challenge was being strong, but really just being tall. He could stand above the waves while the others couldn’t lol

There's been big muscle heads in the past that failed in challenges because they were just muscle and weren't also fit.
Jonathan is big, strong and has cardio endurance.
You had a different type of elite athlete in the past with guys like Ozzy who had incredible agility and coordination, but Jonathan may be the best combination of strength, size and overall fitness to ever play Survivor
At some point there is going to be a target on his back too.

Yep, his tribe needs him now but after the merge he’s a huge threat, so I figure that’s when the targets on him.

Jonathan’s beast mode continues to be an asset
Tori somehow squeaks her way out of the vote.
Swati makes everyone her #1 while leaving herself as #2 …

I was waiting for someone to ask at tribal who her #1 is, just for the pure awkwardness of it.

Caught up.

I'm finding that I'm really only interested in watching to see Jonathan beast mode and wasn't disappointed. I was impressed how he kept everyone together and focused on the rope untangle. I laughed out loud watching him pull that boat and Maryanne along.

Finally caught up. I was hoping Swati would lie low until the merge but once you get caught saying the same lie to multiple people you're toast.

Can't believe eye roll valley girl is still in, especially after telling everyone about the extra vote. I thought Swati was a good pick, dang it

Final episode of Survivor Australia, Blood and Water, tonight. Simply a great season that would rank top 5 of all Survivors.

We should do a separate thread for Survivor AU for the next season, I often have to avoid the survivor AU reddit because of not watching the show live and them being half a day ahead of US. One episode got spoiled by youtube having a jury villa video with the thumbnail being the person just voted out on my feed!
