Thiem is up 2 sets to 1 over Tsitsipas and the match has been suspended due to darkness. Match to be completed tomorrow.

Just woke up to find Shapo and Marterer in the 3rd set tied at 1 set apiece and on serve in the 3rd set.

Well rats, that ended rather quickly as Marterer breaks Denis at love to take the match 5-7 7-6 7-5 6-4. A combination of Marterer playing very well (how is he only ranked #70) and too many errors from Denis.

Again didn't really watch, but when I see a combined 72 winners and 134 errors....clay court tennis sucks. I mean seriously, it's just so dull and so many matches end with more errors than winners. Factor in the grueling physical factor, and I can hope and dream one day that it gets eliminated, or marginalized to being like a month long like grass court season.

You can't stop Zopp as he advances into the 3rd round after a five set win. Instead of Sock vs. Shapo on Saturday, it's Zopp vs. Marterer.

Did Denis even get a break point on Marterer's serve after the first set? Maybe one? That's got to sting.

I did PVR the match, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet - I did watch half of the third set and the entire fourth set and Marterer was serving very well (he's a lefty like Shapo and I think his serve caused plenty of issues for Denis). Denis also had 11 double faults and did not have very many easy points on his serve today.

Verdasco upsets Dimitrov in straight sets while Dzumhur had a match point against Zverev, but Alex prevails in five sets.

Djokovic won.
Carreno Busta is close to losing, down 4-1 in the 4th. Thiem is also in a battle.

Goffin vs Monfils underway, should be fun.

Crazy. Guy is barely advancing against some incredibly mediocre talent at a major again. Facing Pouille the way he's been going will surely be the end of the road and spell another dismal first week exit from a major.

This whole major doesn't really feel like one. Between the layup draw for Rafa and the sense we're playing out the string, I kinda just want this to be over. Once again the women's draw is far more interesting.

Monfils - Goffin feels like a France - Belgium Davis Cup match.
