Icon34 Preds reacquire Cody McLeod from Rangers for a 7th round pick

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
The Predators are re-acquiring Cody McLeod from the Rangers for I believe a 7-th RD pick. Trade call hasn't happened yet.

lol

I'm sure they will stay active, but the Preds aren't exactly looking anymore fearsome after this morning. Not to me at least

Weird acquisition, but I guess it's a body.

Most likely a replacement for Austin Watson's toughness

McLeod is legitimately the worst player in the league.

Oh, absolutely -- but Watson was also a first-rounder who could score some. McLeod is neither of those things... but it does make sense from the pugnacity standpoint.

Am I the only one that isn't afraid of the Preds this year? Sure they have had some injuries, but I'd be more fearful of Calgary, Winnipeg, SJ, and Vegas in the west,

Why would the Preds do this? McLeod isn't even an upgrade on Zac Rinaldo.

Oh.

Well then I guess somehow for whatever reason they feel the need to have that one useless, good for nothing but facepunching bum on their roster.

Alrighty then...

It's utterly hilarious how there can be any NHL GMs who think Rinaldo and/or McLeod have any place in the NHL right now.

What a joke.

Nashville with the moves today. Hopefully we still have some deals for the actual trade deadline.

Nearly every team has a player this or similar to this in the system. Even Treliving experimented with Peluso this year. It's not that surprising for me as this continues each and every season.

True, and it's still a joke with guys like Peluso, McLeod and Rinaldo and the rest of their like because they have no actual NHL hockey playing skills.

Interesting.

"We have dearly missed him in our locker from since we lost him to waivers last year," Poile said. "It's hard to place an exact value on the intangibles a player like Cody brings. He's so vocal. His presence in the locker room is unbelievable. He steps up and does whatever he's asked to do.

"This will be very popular add to our team, especially for our players."

So the Preds think he's their missing locker room presence?? Heh. More power to them I guess if that's what they truly believe.

Well since he was already there, Im guessing they have a pretty good idea of what he brings and what they lost when he left originally.
