I guess Damir Dzumhur is Tsitsipas' kryptonite as that's two straight victories for Damir over the Greek. 6-4 1-6 7-5 were the set scores.

Now up to #145 in the world, this is a great draw for Schnur. He's got a real chance to make a Semi Final here as there is nobody out of his league standing in his way until a likely match with Tiafoe. This event could be a life changer for him if he makes the most of it and goes deep.

Steve Johnson is a big server, so breaking him is going to be a challenge, but Schnur is playing some fine tennis over the last few months, hopefully he can make a deep run in this tourney.

Just a reminder that we have a double-header of Canadian tennis coming up on TSN3 - First up is Milos vs. Stan the Man followed by Denis taking on Berdych. Action slated to start at 10:30 am Pacific (11:30 Mountain) time.

Milos will have to go the distance as he drops the first set to Stan 6-4

Not a great start as Stan is devouring the 2nd serve of Raonic. Milos probably has the best 2nd serve on tour, so I wouldn't be shocked to see this match turn around from here.

It was surprising how much better Schnur looked at the Challenger event in Calgary last fall. I have seen him play a number of times and this was the first time he seemed to look like he had a grasp of how to play as a pro. This may not translate into beating 100ish ranked players on tour, but I think he's certainly found a home as a Polansky type journeyman who will qualify for a number of events each year at the least.

I watched the match Brayden played against Taylor Fritz in the Newport Beach final and it was tightly contested. Fritz is currently ranked #42 in the world, so even though Brayden lost, he had to draw some confidence from his performance.

Second set tie-breaker between Milos and Stan required.

Milos just wasn't that sharp today, it's as simple as that. Stan played well, but nothing extraordinary, Milos made it pretty easy for him today.

Italian journeyman Paolo Lorenzi just beat Ryan Harrison a short time ago at the ATP 250 New York open.

dash_pinched, assuming Schnur can somehow make it past Stevie Johnson, how would you like his chances in the quarters against old man Lorenzi? I'd like to get your thoughts on that.

I think Brayden would have a good chance against Lorenzi (I'd say better than his chances against Steve Johnson to be honest). If Brayden's serve is working well, he's a tough guy to break. There were some rumors out there that he's not feeling all that great, but he looked pretty good last night.

That was an impressive service game from Denis to close out the first set. He's really striking the ball well today.

Shapo breaks at love to take a 2-1 lead in set 2. The Birdman is not happy and taking it out on his box.

Back on serve as a loose service game from Denis levels the second set at 3-3

Edit: Denis breaks right back to go up 4-3

Denis closes it out in style breaking Berdych to win 6-4 6-3. That's the best tennis I've seen from Shapo since probably last year at Madrid on the clay.

Edit: 33 winners from Denis to only 9 winners from Berdych
