Brayden Schnur couldn't complete the Canadian sweep in Newport Beach as he lost to Taylor Fritz 7-6(7) 6-4. Still, some impressive tennis from Brayden this week and over the last few months and he will have a career high ranking of #164 on Monday.

Tennis Canada...building something special up here. it's simple math. not a question of if, but how many grand slams. gimme a glass of wine or a beer, and I think in two years we win a major. That may be a little eager, but I don’t think more than four.

Watching Bianca's match yesterday, I think the biggest thing she needs to improve on is her serve. She has plenty of oomph behind it, but the placement in the box needs to be better (hitting the corners and painting the lines). Ground strokes both forehand and backhand are fine. Somebody mentioned fitness earlier and yes that will need to to improve as well (she had been battling a cold and a back twinge going into the Aussie Open).

Speaking of Canadian tennis does anyone know why Milos decided not to play Davis Cup this weekend? Even without him we should still win but had he played it would have been a rout.
Edit: Just saw it's on clay and in Slovakia going to be tough to win. Little annoyed Milos isn't playing. I don't think hes injured we could have used him and he could use the court time.

Milos was dealing with a knee issue in the Pouille match and he said he was going to get it looked at this week. He's trying to avoid any surgery if possible.

I think Slovakia decided to go with clay as a way to deal with Milos, but Felix doesn't mind the dirt and Denis had one of his best tourneys at Madrid last year. Should be interesting this weekend:

Shapo takes the opening set 6-4 - Spraying some forehands wide, but overall playing okay. He won't be able to get away with this many unforced errors against Klizan.
