Default 2018/19 Brooke Henderson and PGA Golf Thread

Starting a new thread.

Brooke taking a week off, which is good as she's had a big year on and off the course. Hopefully she continues her charge on the Lou Marsh for 2018.

Big year on the PGA tour as we have a number of Canadians with full status and a few more with conditional. Calgary Flames fan Graham De Leat still out with back issues. Hopefully we see him come back.

On the Champions Tour this year, Stephen Ames looks to be the lone Canadian. Rod Spittle retired after a stellar Champions Tour career.

Now, onto this week: Ames is continuing his run of late. He's had a great run leading up to the Tour Championship. He started today in a T-8 way, way back from the leaders. However the leader has struggled and Ames has started the day 5 under through 8 holes. He's now 3 back an in a tie for 4th. This tournament has a big purse so hopefully he's able to finish strong.

So he's now 1 shot back going into the final round.

So awesome

To set up eagle on 18: "Yeah, that's not my normal shot there, I'd been practicing it a couple years, figured I'd try it out eventually".

What a win for Kuchar. First since April 20th, 2014. It was probably a little closer than he'd hoped for at the end, but a nice final drive gave him some breathing room.

Adam Hadwin with a tie for 10th finish, he's got to feel good about that to start the year.

Now let's see if Stephen Ames can continue where he left off on the Champions tour.

Ames finishes T-5 and picks up $138,000 for his efforts.

In the 3 tournament Charles Schwab Cup race, he went:
t-15
t-3
t-5

And I think he was in the final group for all 3 tournaments. Not bad. Needs to keep that putter hot and we'll see him go on a run next year.

Tough start for Brooke in the year ending tournie. She was 4 over through 13 and then pulled it back to finish at +1. That is 10 shots out of the lead.

She is one of 5 players who control their own fate in the season ending race. Should she win it all, there is a cool extra million bucks for her.

Lots of work to do tomorrow.

It was his 4th tournament of the year and 2nd T10. He'd probably have been happier with a couple strokes better in each of those tournaments. He's currently sitting at 61 in the world golf rankings and top 50 for the end of the calendar year get in Masters and most majors of the year. Top 30 of Fedex points from the 17-18 season get you in too, but he was 36. Kind of sucks to be so close, but will probably miss out on most majors.

Hearn is in contention going into the weekend this week. A win would be huge for him, since he is just on 125-150 status and doesn't get into many tournaments.

DeChambeau putting with the flag stick in leads in putting stats and is 2nd in the tourney of champions this week. Damn, it looks weird, but I guess it's working for him!
