Overall I didn't mind the effort. However their execution was just terrible: passes in feet, shots sailing wide, one foot tripping over the other foot... not sure why this seems to happen to all of the team's best players from time to time this season.

With the Capitals shutout against Carolina, NHL goalies (not including Rittich) have combined for 60 shutouts this season.
6 of those have come against the Flames.
That's a perfect 10%.

I wish I was better at the internet because the only thing to sum up this game is the Price is Right losing horn.

Lol this team wants to be a division leader and win big games?? They have shown a complete inability to use a big win to build momentum. As soon as they win to get into 1st they come up completely empty the next game.
Zero belief this core has the mental fortitude to win multiple games in a playoff series.
We need to get Brodie a better partner, Giordano looks brutal this year.

Gotta be in sync.
Gotta hit the tape with your passes.
Prerequisites to winning.

This game had letdown written all over it, and the Flames love to live up to low expectations

Just seemed like one of those game where nothing is working, and the team is out of sync. I don't even think they played that poorly, just missing the net on good looks and Price was very good. On to the next game.

I mean...they did win 5 straight to get there. Now they’ve got two games before the break - both of which are very winnable on paper, but they have to outwork the opposition.
Toss this game out and get ready for a big game on Thursday.
Monahan, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Backlund, Tkachuk, Giordano, Hanifin, and Hamonic all executed quite poorly tonight. I don’t think that will happen again on Thursday.

It seems like the Flames get shut-out so often.
It sucks.

Indeed, there have been 59 shutouts in the NHL this year and the Flames have been on the receiving end of 6. That's 10.2% of all shutouts.
33.3% (1 in 3) of all Flames regulation losses have been shutouts.

Stinker of a game and you know what? They’ll have more of those before the season is done. Tampa had their 10 game win streak snapped by New Jersey last night. Just burn the tape on this one and regroup. Not too concerned.

Hanifin and Hamonic were so terrible tonight. Almost painfully so. Not many forwards seemed engaged. Boring game that only one team wanted to play, and they weren't that good either.

Montreal is a fun city for young men. I'm guessing the celebration from Saturday's game spilled over to Sunday night. All winning streaks come to an end, need to start a new one on Thursday.

Potential that Van, Vegas, Arizona and Edmonton all win tomorrow and all pass or pull into a tie with Calgary.
This Pacific race is ridiculous.
