Stupid Jets just needed one point to knock the Oilers out of a playoff spot and they couldn't do it.

Leafs are getting hammered by the Panthers. Ha. Ha. Already chased Andersen. They get 1 on the PP, so it is now 5 - 1.

Arizona loses to Pittsburgh in the shootout.

The Flames remain first in the Division!

It's too bad so many people hate Hometown Hockey, and missed that excellent profile piece on power-skate coaching guru and Flames consultant Dawn Braid.

Here’s a great article on her.https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...ches-big-read/

I thought this quote was gold.

‘Regardless of who comes through the door, though, the philosophy of her approach remains unchanged — back to the fundamentals. Back to the blueprint. “Take the basic elements of skating,” she says. “Your forward and backward skating, your crossovers, your edges and your turning … You look at that in a player and pull out ‘Why do they not do them well?’ and, ‘Have they ever been taught correctly how to do those basic elements?’” The key is body alignment, she explains — ankles, knees and hips. “If the alignment is off there, then the whole kinetic chain of movement is going to be incorrect. So, when I say ‘foundation,’ that’s what we’re looking for first.”’

The Devils have had an impressive weekend defeating two high powered offensive teams. They stopped the Lightning's ten game winning streak. The final score was 3-1 with Domingue in net against his former team. The flip side, Tampa Bay has scored only two goals in their two weekend games.

Thanks to the Predators on the 1-0 reg time win over the Jets. Bad give away by the Jets lead to the goal by Turris. Saros with the 28 save SHUTOUT. The coaching change may be the spark the Predators were lacking. The Jets remain in 9th place.

It was a wild 2nd period in Minnesota, 4 goals in 4 minutes as the Canucks were up 3-1 and then an empty net goal, 4-1 final. Lots of minor penalites which led to great PK for both teams. The Wild were 7/8 and the Canucks were 5/5.

The Coyotes were able to score after being shutout in the past 2 games. They played well and got a point in the 4-3 SO loss to the Penguins. Malkin with 2 points.

Way to go Panthers for exposing the Leafs defense! The Panthers won 8-4. Poor save percentage on both Leafs goalies, 8 goals on 29 shots. LOL. The Leafs did fire 47 shots on Driedger who played well. Holy Jokinen, Huberdeau passes Jokinen for the most points in Panthers history. The win puts the Panthers in 8th place of the eastern conf, 1 point back of the Leafs and just 1 point up on the 9th place Flyers.

The Sabres won 5-1 over the last place Dead Wings.
