Please be a trade. Probably some boring old thing like an injury though. Still, Stone is here still. So must be a long term injury if they're calling up Yelesin to get paid them NHL dollars to munch the popcorn

Likely means a defenceman is nursing an injury.
East coast road trip and Heat in California -> having Yelesin with the team just in case they need him. They called him up on their travel day as well.

Not at all...have to carry 7 guys on D. One could get injured in practice or in warm ups.
He is just likely an insurance policy and gets to prctice with the big club and make a few more bucks as a reward for being good in Stockton.
