I suppose he'd probably be an okay Stone replacement, but the last time the Flames signed an ex-Flyer defender to a PTO we got the Grossmann disaster.

Ugh why does Treliving always insist on bringing in extremely crummy D that nobody else wants on PTOs? There are better players still out there than this guy that will likely end up getting contracts. I could be wrong but isn't this the 4th time some bum has been brought in that has no upside whatsoever?

Every team has PTOs. It’s part of camp. Nothing to complain about here.
Sure, but we don't need another Prout. Lucic was brought in as a forward that can cover that role while supposedly being an everyday player too. PTO some players if you want, they are a necessary part of camp, but please choose guys who have more to offer.

Who cares? Our D is basically set, it would take a miracle to land a D spot.
Hes a warm body.

He was hated by Flyers fans, but was also making $5M.
As a possible temporary #6 on a PTO, I'm ok with it.
How he ever managed to get that contract was crazy. I think everyone in the hockey world shat themselves when that happened.
On the plus side, our young defensemen should be able to easily push him aside at camp. If they can't, our depth isn't as good as we think. He might give Valiev some competition on the farm for being first call-up, but that is it.
