Surprised only one mention of City and Colour. Far and away the purest voice I've ever heard live. He was the soundtrack to my Yukon road trip in '06.

And yeah - never got all the hate for Nickelback either. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but no worse than dozens of other bands out there. Kroeger knows how to write a hook.

Dallas Green is awesome.
Cool story Bro moment here but I worked a City and Colour show a couple years ago which was a treat. But another great vocalist was opening for them in a band called Sleepercar (side band for some of Sparta). Having been able to watch Dallas Green and Jim Ward in one night was incredible.

Now we're talking! Throw some Forbidden Dimension and Color Me Psycho in the mix (honorable mention to The Golden Calgarians)

How the hell are DOA not being represented here?

No love for 'The Dudes'? Their last album was fantastic.

All the other good bands have already been listed. Sebastian Bach is Canadian, so I'm counting Skid Row!

No mention of Joel Plaskett? That's sad.
He's by far, my favorite Canadian musician.
I've been hooked on Joel since the late 90's.

My other favorites are the following.

Neil Young
Metric
Tegan & Sara.
