Question Falling Skies - new Spielberg-produced TNT show

Did anyone watch the series premiere for Falling Skies the other night? What did you think of it? Does it have potential? I've heard some comparisons to the Walking Dead. I'm dyin' for some good sci-fyin'.

Ya I first heard of this show yesterday. The previews looked interesting. Was reading about it on twitter and some people liked it and some didn't.

God no....wouldn't that be nice? Of course it doesn't.

Didn't see any Canadian channel pick this show up. Did a search last night and nothing. Grabbing the torrent personally right now. Show looks great.

Well, finished downloading and watched it earlier tonight. Not sure how I feel about this one. It was OK. It has promise I suppose, but I didn't think the acting was very strong and for a first episode (2 episodes), it was not that action filled for me. I suppose you could compare it to The Walking Dead (replace zombies with aliens), but really, it didn't have the same scary feel, nor was it intense or violent. It felt like a show that could be shown on NBC for example and had a mini-series feel to it. The Walking Dead it ain't.

Watched the first episode and it was meh. Not a fan of the casting. I think I will wait to see if it's gets cancelled or not before I start watching the remainder of the episodes.

Yeah I dunno. Watching the first episode right now and having a hard time focusing, which usually means I won't keep watching. It's unfortunate because I think the concept could be good, but the whole thing falls kinda flat.

I don't just subscribe to Superchannel; I own it. And now that I have it and Viewer's Choice, I will get double the rent!

I've watched the first few episodes and it definitely could be better. It is very PG and already seems outdated...like a Scifi series you would have seen 10 years ago. I like bad TV though so I will probably keep watching until it gets cancelled.

As of late, Spielberg has been very hit or miss. Mostly the latter.

I've watched every episode so far. I love post apocalyptic stuff, and sci fi, and although this show has both elements, it just isn't very good.

Lots of plot holes, poor acting, and very talky. Minimal action as well. Starting to move towards some religious overtones it could do without as well.

I'll keep watching for a while, but it's not very compelling.

On the more positive note, Blue Mountain State got picked up for its third season.

Not sure if anyone is still watching this show. I just finished watching the second season and it was pretty great. A lot more action and quite a bit more violent but the story seemed to mature quite a bit and at 10 episodes it moved at a pretty good pace.

Not the strongest show on TV but it's a good time waster. The only thing I have trouble with is that an alien race comes in and yet with it's advanced tech it can't defeat a small band of resistance fighters... Suspension of disbelief has to play a role here as well. If you can do that then the show is fun.

I so desperately want good sci fi that I watch this show, and you know its not too bad, but man it could be so much better with a real budget.

It's back for the third season and a 2 hour opener last night.

I admit, I've watched so many other things between this season and last that I barely remember what took place last season.

I would not watch this show on the simple fact that Moon Bloodgood is one of the main actresses.

I would watch this show on the simple fact that Will Patton has a role.

So, meh.
