Yeah because there is nothing uncertain about a looming no-deal brexit and the eventuality of renegotiating, from scratch, trade with every other country in the world. The looming eventuality of the financial services industry exiting your country. Not to mention the looming possibility of secession of Scotland and N.Ireland.

The UK is ****ed.

Anybody else find the UK system of reporting riding results, with all the candidates no matter how wacky in the same place, interesting/weird compared to normal North American practice?

Apparently so:

Bobby “Elmo” Smith was an opponent of Johnson’s in the constituency of Uxbridge & Ruislip South, and he wasn’t even the strangest character.

I pulled my money out of the one European-focused mutual fund I had it in when I did my yearly review with my adviser and found out that 49% of its exposure was to the bloody United Kingdom. No wonder its performance was so mediocre relative to the other funds I had holdings in.

Ha ha, I remember seeing that on John Oliver. I think it's awesome. I wish we had that here. That guy dressed like a knight / robot with the garbage can head would have gotten my vote if it was between him, Scheer, Trudeau, May, or Singh in the last election.

Elmo represents some variation of Fathers For Justice where sad angry dads who generally (but not always) have acted like pr**** are angry the courts have decided to stop them acting like pr**** around their ex and kids.
