What exactly do you mean by "you guys"? I'm not in there, I just take photos. (These aren't mine.)

Wow, I am absolutely stunned! I had no idea that many adults would dress up as cartoon characters and go out in public! That is crazy.
This makes me wonder how / why?
I consider myself a sci-fi fan, mostly movies and tv shows. I recognized the lego ship from serenity. But I can't see how dressing up and attending this show would be fun? The panels for GOT and walking dead sounded interesting, but not worth the hassle of crowds and cattle queues...
Are these attendee's superfans? Or is the Comic book industry so much bigger than I've ever imagined?

Considering almost every 500million movie is based from comics now it's bigger than you imagine.

Is there actually a 501st in Calgary or did they come from somewhere else?

It looks like their Garrison covers BC to Saskatchewan. So there isn't a Calgary specific unit.

Somebody didn't have a good experience meeting Wil Wheaton at the Calgary Expo, mentioned it on Reddit, and he responded.

ALL ABOARD!

It's cool that he responded. The 'experience' happened at last year's Expo which was a clusterfark so I'm not surprised people were disappointed.

^ That gives a good sense of capacity. Not just interest though.
I believe New York sells out quickly and San Diego literally sells out in a matter of seconds. Calgary kept ticket sales open for more than half a year but that graphic is still very interesting. Hope we get more interest from bigger exhibitors in future years as a result.

Where is DragonCon on that chart above? From Wikipedia, it should be between C2E2 and Anime Expo. I am surprised the Calgary Comic Con is bigger than that.
