I'm surprised about T-Mobile arena being in the mix for best ice.

Leon Draisaitl as best passer is the only perplexing one. Seeing McDavid get accolades is not surprising, and frankly it is well deserved.
I'd have been stunned if the Flames had anyone on that list.

With the dry ass climate maybe it's easier to control the ice conditions?

He's a good passer, but Kucherov & McDavid consistently beat him in assists. I'm surprised too.

Dry air. It can get warm at times, but winters are pretty cool overall, so it doesn’t affect ice. Humid air is the biggest reason for bad ice, and that usually happens along with warmer air. Deserts should have good ice if they can regulate the air temperature.

Also not very hot there during most of the season. Temps below 10 degrees are common Dec-Feb. Florida, it is not.

I'm surprised Johnny G. didn't get mentioned in the passing / stickhandling questions.

Good ice isn't about the temperature outside, it's about the temperature inside. T-Mobile does a good job of keeping the temp cool and regulated. Obviously, the outside temp can affect the interior temp, but a good building is about controlling the interior temp.
I have found T-Mobile and Glendale to be two of the coolest (coldest) rinks I have sat in. Uncomfortably cold, as in you need a jacket, even when it's hot outside.

I can't believe the Saddledome didn't make "best ice"!

Glad that the players agreed that McDavid was not a complete player.

I have no issues with the results of the poll. I do think Johnny G would have been on the cusp of the top 6 for passing and stickhandling. He was number 5 last year (stickhandling).

Only surprises for me were Draisaitl still being overrated and that Mckinnon didn't get more attention in a couple of categories.

Ya super surprised that a guy who consistently is top 3 in scoring, has won a Hart trophy, Ted Lindsay, and Art Ross would get recognition amongst his peers as a good player. Puzzling really.

No one said he's not a good player, get a grip.
People are mildly surprised he was voted best passer. When I think Draisatl, I think "shooter" - usually being setup by McDavid.

He is top 3 in assists over the past few years, it's not much of a reach.

Well, he's 4th (over the last 3 seasons). And let's keep in mind that he plays with McDavid.
McDavid and Panarin are 1, 2 over that period, and yet finished 4th and 5th in the voting, with less votes than Draisaitl, combined.
Your posts come across like duh, of course he won. But I think there is plenty of arguments as to why others may have deserved it more.

Have to take it up with the players then.

I was at Mullet arena. Can’t comment on the ice but they sure blast their A/C to keep the temp down. It was gale force.
