I know the team won't rebuild at the moment, but that could change very quickly, especially with the uncertainty with Tkachuk.
The Flames just went through a draft with almost no picks, and nothing of consequence, there is no way they should be offer-sheeting picks away for the next draft too

If the Avs need to move Compher the Flames should be in on that IMO.
I feel like he would fit with a Sutter team perfectly and would be a good add to our third line.
I would much rather have Compher on a one year contract than Kadri on a 7 year contract. You could probably get him on the super cheap, Pacioretty style.
I don't see why they would want to spend assets on a guy who will be UFA at the end of next season, he's making $3.5M. They should figure our own RFAs first, then fill out the roster with other UFAs

It might not cost a whole lot.
Not a lot of teams have cap space left, and if Kadri and Colorado want to stay together then you need to make the move sooner rather than later.
Vegas just had to give up a PPG player that scored 19 goals in 39 games last year for nothing.
I don’t see Compher demanding any return if he’s who Colorado decide to move to make space for Kadri.
Do we need a Compher though? He's a 3C at best. I feel like now is the time to see what we have in Ruzicka. He's too good to be stapled onto the 4th line, but his issue is consistency. I don't know how the organization feels about bringing back Jankrok, but it seems like he would could be had for under what Compher makes. Though you could argue that Compher could be a good deadline tradebait.
We'd be a lottery team but 4 1sts and ~20m in cap space @ the draft is worth it imo.
In 2 years almost all of our current contracts are off the books. It's the perfect opportunity to go for a clean slate with some up and coming talent. You've got Stutzle and Byram as shots for that #1C/D we need along with Pelletier, Coronato and Zary in the wings. If we can hit on 2/4 firsts we could be looking really competitive in 2024/2025 after the rest of our current core is off the books.
Anyways I know it's a far fetched pipe dream but it was fun!

The only team that doesn't laugh and hang up is Boston, until you ask for the 1st rounder.

You would have to take Compher back, but Colorado does that Lindholm deal in a heartbeat. Byram and the 32nd pick in the draft is pretty terrible value for Lindholm though, 32nd overall is the old second rounder in the early 90’s.

Lindholm is probably the Flames most valuable asset right now. He is a massive upgrade at C to almost any contending team, and he is paid half what he is worth for what, two more seasons? That combination makes him almost unique.
